Not for the 3M, I had it done by the dealer before I picked the car up, so I missed that one. Wish I would have been there though. There were 170km on my car that weren't on the dealer delivery invoice  Not saying European did it, but the dealer had no idea where the extra K's came from. It went for 3M and snow tires. I googled the distances and it should have been 50km round trip for each location total....

Also thanks for the link, they just added a Helmholz to it. Which I may consider after I put some hours on the car.

I hate drone.... couldn't live with it myself as I do a lot of long trips in the Z :icon14:

Ah gotcha, yeah I will talk to the guys there, if I feel like I'm not comfortable ill just take it home. They did sound like a good shop over the phone, ill be sure to record my mileage and let them know that I have it written down.

I know what you mean about the drone, I am the same way. I just am a little hesitant to hack up the FI exhaust that is all shiny and new. We'll see how it goes. I am hoping once it starts getting hot here that matting I put in will soften up and work even better. Maybe, maybe not.

I have my vehicles' tinting and 3M done there too, including the GT-R. They'll leave your Z in the bay overnight, so not to worry. I was there this afternoon, but didn't see your car. You must have gotten there later. The owner is Ron, not Rob.

Sorry, thanks for the correction Adel. Ron is indeed the owner...!

He actually showed me the bottle you left him, haha. I got there right around 5 or so. He is going to 3m all the rocker panels for what I was quoted to do just the hood and fenders :). I told him I might have to bring him a bottle as well if he does that for me.

They didnt think they could get the tint to stay on the rear tail lights, so ill probably just try and spray them myself.

wheee! 04-11-2013 09:18 AM

They tried to do the headlights for me with clear guard but it failed to mold without bubbles. Didn't even try the tails.

djpathfinder 04-11-2013 09:33 AM

The bottle...small price to pay for some Scotchbrite 1080 matte CF that I used to wrap the centre console trim myself. Turned out really well.

Yup, I believe Ed had the same problem with bubbling on the tails. Both he and James got theirs sprayed. Talk to James...Ed might have used the same guy James used.

Hey if they do indeed throw in the rocker panel wrap for free its the least I could do. He was pretty awesome, showed me how the printer cut the pieces and took the time to show me the layouts on his computer and even allowed me to pick and choose parts from different kits.

I talked to James about his when I seen them, he just sprayed them himself. I just am not very good at spray bombing much of anything. I think I will give the plastidip tinting stuff a try and see how that comes out.

Or if anyone knows anyone local in the city I would be more than happy to pay for a good job of painting them.

Nonono, I paid someone to do it lol I said you could probably do them yourself. Its not that hard.

Ed had his done by my guy, can't remember how much he charged but I could find out.

Thanks, I am as well. Its beginning to stretch out a little to long for me. I would rather have everything buttoned up and ready to go. I hope to have everything done for the 1st/2nd week of may. Still got a few issues to take care of and get the clutch installed.

Mitch
