Not serious about the gold. I am beginning to work on the strut bar but it will probably be an "in between jobs" sort of project. I have a first test drive coming up, a trip to the exhaust shop coming up, and I need to get the body kit to the painter. I might graft part of the OEM side skirts to the Amuse skirts so I can get a "like factory" fit and finish. I haven't decided on that yet.

I'm trying to think of a logo or...sponsor logo that I can incorporate with the strut bar. I have a cool idea, I just need a good logo to make the idea a reality.

Sounds good! You have lots of work to the Z coming up soon to

I love and hate this thread. Love it because its all awesome, hate it because I want to be able to do it! Especially the body work you've done, thats where I am lost.

It comes from years of doing custom work on customer vehicles where I couldn't fail, yet I'm still hesitant about doing this stuff to my own vehicle. :icon14:

The hardest part is making the first cut, once you've done that you have no choice but to make it right, or spend money on a new part.

I have troubles getting ultra fine lines from my airbrush... I need more practice. You can pickup an airbrush kit fairly cheaply, then start painting lines, fades, etc... You can do it

thanks, mr.gale!

i just need time to do it...

im thinking about getting a Tamiya airbrush kit if they still sell it. at a toy trade show long time ago, wife and i watched an artist paint a 1:24 scale car model and she was using it like a pen on a 8x11 piece of paper as demo. no over spray wat so ever, and it was like instantly dry. wow!

she mentioned that the paint particles are super adjustable to match the scale of the car. she was drawing clean lines too. and the compressor she was using wasn't too loud.

i want to be able to paint my toy cars first, then go bigger to paint aero bits and interior pieces (like that a-pillar you did) for real cars. :D

wheee! 03-12-2013 03:52 PM

Which bar? Who's buying? I'm in!

She's alive!!!! The Z is on the ground, and went around the block. I found one the fitting on the hose coming out of the oil filter relocation plate has a small leak. It was/is tight...

I pissed off a few neighbours in the process (no exhaust)

Boring drive-by video to come.

I think I am going to have leaks in the lines coming off the relocation plate as well. I got them to stop at idle but wont know for sure until I take mine for a spin. They are damn tight thats for sure, hopefully they seat and stop leaking.
