Here is a list of cost. Be advised that I might have missed a couple of items:
1. Labor for disassembly and reassembly paid to Nissan 2900.00
2. Gtm valve train 1500.00
3. Gtm stage 1 heads 2000.00
4. Gtm torque converter 625.00
5. Gtm HD flex plate 435.00
6. JUN exhaust cams 650.00
7. Cosworth head gaskets 315.00
8. ARP L19 headstuds 529.00
9 Z1 engine and transmission mounts 400.00
10. Stillen transmission cooler 329.00
11. NST pulley set 250.00

All these parts were added at the same time during the reinstall. I had all the bolt on before the motor build so the bolt on parts are not listed.
The total time was about 6 months due to shipping and GTM backlog of work at the time and reassembly of the engine back in the car. I am missing all the shipping cost for the heads and the torque converter cause from Guam it was ridiculous. This is a basic idea of the cost I had for this build. A lot of small cost r not included either. The dealership also replace both VVEL actuators under warranty just to match them with the new heads. That was a hookup. If I think of anything else I will will update this post. So far I haven't had any problems at all. The engine is so much louder then before and u can hear the cams due to the larger duration of the cams. Next upgrade is going to be the transmission valve body in increase the line pressure safely throughout the transmission.

That's a pretty extensive build and cost is up there with Twins. But props for going a different probably more reliable route!

Navyboy916 07-22-2013 03:47 AM

Thanks, I just didnt want to go the F.I route like so many people here do. I mean don't get me wrong they have a lot of power and its so sick but I just wanted to here that motor scream and trust me it does

AND, if he DID want a TT setup he'd still have to do a LOT of those mods as well, if not all of them

Don't know if I missed it elsewhere, but as long as you're doing all these nice upgrades, you might want to switch to the Nismo oil pump to avoid risk of grenading the oil pump gear at high revs down the road. It's a relatively cheap investment in engine durability if you're already digging in that deep.

I might look into the nismo oil pump. I just checked and my stiff exhaust mounts from torque solutions has arrived and will be delivered tomorrow.

For the headers I still want to retain some sort of cats and so the next best thing for me is going to be the 5zigen headers.

I pray you didn't buy them. Not the greatest design and no verified power gains. Try the Z1 headers... (As much as I think they f'd the customer by requiring DE cats)

post a couple videos if you can

Navyboy916 07-24-2013 03:31 PM

I will post a video. I also have just ordered the zspeed underside diffuser. Today I will be buying the csf radiator as well. I live in a very hot climate so cooling is what's my focus now. I am going to go to Nissan today to see about swapping the oil pump for the nismo oil pump to help ensure oil flow at high rpm's.

Good call on both the Zspeed under panel and CSF radiator. I've been very pleased with them.

Thanks for the info it just reaffirms the decision.
