I would give a light scuff with some sand paper to help with the holding and then just multiple very light coats until it is even. But I got mine

I would give a light scuff with some sand paper to help with the holding and then just multiple very light coats until it is even. But I got mine powdercoated for $60 so to me that is more than cheap enough to not waste a full day trying to rattle can and also it look perfect in the end. Not saying you cant with a rattle can, oh you can, but it takes the better part of a day if not 2 to get it even and looking professional, and odds are if you have never done it before it wont come out perfect the first time.
