I've also installed wheel spacers and I have my tow hook, strut bar, and new BBK calipers at the powder coaters right now.

Is the foot well a kit ??
Pics ??

Huck 01-21-2014 11:03 PM

Its not a kit, just buy 4 of these:

And wire them into your illuminated kick plate harness. Maybe I'll do a quick diy later on in the week if I have time.

No resistors needed ?
what color white did you go with ?

Huck 01-22-2014 08:55 AM

If there are resistors they're already wired in, I didn't have to get any. Its called cool white, its probably around 6000k so it has just a tinge of blue to it which matches all my other LEDs in the car.

Hey guys, I got my strut bar and tow hook back from the powder coater yesterday and put them back on the car. The Akebono calipers should be done Monday, but I'll be doing a time consuming stereo install that day for a friend so I'll probably grab them Tuesday. Then putting them back together should be fun...

Anyway. Here's a quick pic update!

I jeep meaning to do a more in-depth update with more pics but I keep on forgetting... Oh well, tomorrow.

Next up, the BBK came back from the Powdercoater, I decided to stay away from the pearl white color matching since I'm way too lazy to clean the calipers every week when they get dirty. I went with a gunmetal color cause I figure that's similar to what I'll be getting my wheels in, so they'll all match. Got a good deal on some used RE-11's from Mike the Powdercoater, and he's gonna throw in some white Z1 stickers to go on the calipers.

I also bought some cheap carbon fiber fabric and epoxy to olay around with and see if I can't get the hang of wrapping stuff in CF. Let's see how it goes.

Looking good brother!!!

Gibby1113 02-01-2014 11:27 AM

Hey huck I'm looking to get some parking LEDs but I really want them to be the same color as the oem led headlight. Are the one that you posted the same color or are they bluish? You posted some from amazon and jdm which would you recommend for my preference?

Thanks

Huck 02-01-2014 12:56 PM

Actually I would recommend either vleds.com or superbrightleds.com. the second site has a cool feature where you tell it what bulb you're looking for (DRL, map light, etc) and it shows you all the compatible LEDs and how bright they are. Look for an LED that is labeled as "warm white", the cool white has a tinge of blue to it. Warm white will be closer to 4500-5000k.

194 CAN Bus LED Bulb - 5 SMD LED Wedge Base Tower | Miniature Wedge Base LEDs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs

Would these be white?

Huck 02-02-2014 03:05 AM

Yes, they have the option for white, cool, natural, and warm. I would go with either warm which is gonna match the stock 4300k headlights or natural which will probably be more of a pure white 5000k look without the yellow tinge to it.

i love the cabin lighting its freaking clean!!!!

Huck 02-02-2014 05:29 PM

Thanks Sim! I don't know why I didn't do it before, its so easy... And I really like those LEDs, inexpensive, convenient sticky backing, and nice and bright.

It says the white is 4500k and warm white is 3000k. Still think I should go w/ warm white?
