The first few years were pretty frantic and exhausting, modding the car to where it is now. Now I just want to drive it as much as I can this summer. The project car (280Z) is full throttle on the rotisserie with all the metal fabricating and repairs ongoing. Hoping to have the underside restored and the frame/shell sprayed by the end of the fall. That's optimistic if my first plan (drive RoZy) is going to be fulfilled! lol

You forgot the headlights, but other than that it's a good plan! The trip south through the mountains will sure add some km's if you do it!

....aaaaand stop the timer!
Ed chimes in to break my balls about the headlights again

So the yard work was completed last year and was well worth it! Along with that, my daughter gave birth to my third grandson on October 7th last year! Of course the Army felt the need to cancel my leave pass, ship me across the country BETWEEN fall exercises over the Thanksgiving weekend to attend an unecessary course so I missed his birth (the second time that the Army sent me away during a birth...!) AND Thanksgiving....
I did not get to drive RoZy as much as I wanted due to being in the field for 4 months last summer. Sad.
I did, however, spend a lot of time on the 280 over the winter and have been progressing nicely with the repairs and restoration. The metal work is done and the primer is applied to the shell.
This year, more 370 driving.... at least that's the plan! First road trip thru the Rockies to Kelowna is already booked for the May long weekend!

A small amount of camber was added to clear the wheel wells. Running about -2.0 now. A little finessing of the body kit to allow the tires to slide into the wells too. All good now!

Well, I changed the rear wheel bearing on the driver side due to a “roaring” sound while cruising.

Sound persisted so I inspected the rear diff and found clean oil and smooth operation. Synthetic fluid is in it as well.

I changed the front wheel bearing next thinking the noise is rotational and coming from somewhere on the left side, but still no luck!

My next best guess is the CV shaft needs replacing, but that’s all that I can think of that’s causing this noise. Very strange.

Thoughts?

Did the same thing on my late Wife's 300ZX and it ended being the passenger side bearing.I don't think it is going to be an axle as i tried that too.
