Now you got me jealous. I just moved out about a year ago because my family was moving about 35-45 minutes away from my work so I got into a house, but man do I miss it. Never had any issues, amazing home cooked meals, my laundry always done, PLUS the extra cash.

On a side note, mod the Z but save some money too! I kick myself everyday thinking about all the money I blew when I was younger. I lived at home, had two jobs, and I probably made $15,000 a year (not bad for a 17 year old 12 years ago) and I have no idea where any of it went. I was always broke. I probably kept Cheetos and Mountain Dew in business those years.

:bowrofl::bowrofl: I still put 10% of each paycheck into savings, and luckily havent dipped into it yet for mods however I have ran my checkings WAY down. lol I keep telling myself I am going to take a break, but I havent yet.

What do you do if you don't mind me asking? I know you're around the same age as me.

I'm graduating next month and should start working as a full time chemical engineer whenever I secure a job. Then I'll start saving for a house to buy with my family. Good thing is that my parents already have a bunch of money saved up for it, but my new income will help a lot.

I plan on doing that once I start working full time. I will probably save 25-50% of each paycheck for the house and start paying off my car a lot quicker with some of my remaining money. Will try to keep my expenses similar which will be good since I'll make like 4 times more than what I do now.

I sell toner/ink actually. hahah to large scale business's and the government. Its not the most glorifying job but it pays my bills and definitely lets me enjoy my hobbies!

Sounds like you got everything planned out pretty nicely! I am glad I got into my house before I picked up the Z or that goal would be far far away now

I could but we don't have a washer/dryer in our apartment so my mom does the whole family's laundry together in bulk. Once we get the house though I'll probably have to do it on my own :icon17:

Passport 9500IX ordered.. And the tires came in yesterday! Now all the little stuff to tie it together... my bank account hates my Z more than the GF.. ahah

LakeShow 04-19-2012 10:22 AM

^^I see you bought the Passport 9500. I'm currently in the market for a radar detector and don't know anything about radar detectors. What is the best one? I've heard of Valentine 1 and some other ones. The Passport seems to be popular. What do you recommend?

Personally, from what iv seen personally (I have two friends with valentine 1's) their detection performance seems identicle. The key feature for the V1 is their arrows indicating where the threat is coming from, passport.. the GPS feature. IMO, the GPS feature cannot be beat. It is so nice being able to drive around town and not get alerted everytime you pass a 7-11, store, and things of this nature. Plus, for me whether the cop is in front or behind me I am going to slow down.. Also think that the more compact build of the 9500ix looks a lot nicer (if that matters to you) I have the 9500I (old model) in my truck and to be honest wouldnt drive without one. Any vehicle I own and will own will have one! I am currently looking for a solution to mount it on my GSXR1000 to.. hope this helps!

Honestly I'm not sure, the P.O. Number is 524-075 but the invoice number is 4136. I don't remember him saying, hey, your order number is _____________.

Thanks. I'm leaning towards the 9500ix because of the GPS features and I have a lot of Red light cameras popping up in my area and this is suppossed to detect them. The V1 is nice but the 9500ix seems a little more practical for me. Question, how does it notify you of the speed and red light cameras? Does it say something or display it in writing?

It gives you a audible alert, and on the screen. With a countdown of you approaching it. IIRC it starts counting at 1200 feet or more. Works great!
