Recaro Profi

My new seats. Cat approved. Can't wait to get these in. One seat is a XL for passengers of a different size. They only
weigh 19lbs. Woot. Thanks to Mike for the sale. He even powdered coated the brackets wrinkle red for me also. Same as my intakes and strut bar if you have see that earlier.

Is your cat the new co-pilot:bowrofl:

Its the car I wanted to make mine into. Unfortunately, budget considerations have all that on hold for a bit.

Thing is I love your car just as equal as mine. Just need to learn to drive like you.:icon17:

Here's the brackets.

Nice updates :)

The seats: I assume the 19 lbs is w/o the brackets, right? Any idea on bracket weight?

The trunk itself on mine has been perma-stripped-out for a while now, but I have yet to move forward to the plastics just behind the seats. Will probably be coming up soon though, for the same reason (make it easier/cheaper for a local shop to weld in a 4-pt rollbar setup and attach harnesses, and then probably leave them off).

What about the wimpy stock bar/tube that goes across the rear interior? I'd think with even a 4-pt rollbar in place you've got far more strength than that dinky thing ever offered, may as well kill it right?

love the small seat and big seat haha

That's right they weigh 19lbs without. I'm guessing the brackets and rails weigh about 5lbs. So I'm guessing overall it's about 20lbs in savings per seat over factory (give or take a couple). I put them in today and you can defiantly feel the the difference in weight. I just know my car that well. Probably make up for it when the cage goes in. I also removed the seat belts. They weight about 4lbs.

So far as the rear tube bar I think I'm going to remove that all together. Wasn't really sure if it has a purpose now.

There's a small story behind that but it actually worked in my favor. That why if I have bigger passenger at the track they can ride wihtout me being worried about if they can fit. Instructors too.

Chris,

Do those brackets bolt into the stock seat bolts? Any advantage to using a side mount bracket? Thanks
