Thought I post an update.
5/2014, my MR Works led headlights were failing. Went to George in Alhambra and had him fixed the landing strips and added Amber halos. So far so good. 6/2014, installed illuminated kick plates. Found a new set for cheap on eBay. 9/2014, I went with thicker side wall tires (255/35 Fronts, 285/30 Rears) Hankook V12. I was constantly getting bent lips with my previous setup. So far so good. I also went back to the original finish on the MS1s (polished silver barrels). 10/2014, I finally upgraded my stereo to a Pioneer AVH 4000NEX and Polk MM6501 components. I went with the NEX because of the Apple Carplay functionality. Also installed Alpine rear camera. 1/2015, I purchased the JDM illumination lighting package from Japanparts.com. Footwell lights up orange when doors open, turns off after 10 seconds when doors closed. Footwell lights up orange when headlights on. 2/2015, Got my short block replaced for oil consumption under warranty at 34,000 miles. Finally, I'm going to have Seb@SZ install 4.08 gears, whiteline differential bushings, Quaife LSD, and Eibach sway bars this coming Wedmesday. Can't wait!:happydance: |
Just got back from Specialty Z. I wasn't able to get the Eibach sways installed. Will save that for another time. The differential was installed in less than 3 hours. I was super concerned about extra noise, vibrations, whine from the Whiteline bushings and the 4.08 gears. Lucky for me, I did not experience any additional NVH. As for the 4.08s, I did not notice any difference in street driving under normal acceleration. However, under moderate to heavy throttle is when I noticed it most. 1 and 2 gear are very quick. Acceleration in 7th gear on the highway is much improved. I do 90% of my driving on surface streets so hopefully I will not notice a drop in MPG.
As for the Quaife, I have not noticed its presence yet. I haven't pushed it around corners yet. Will report back in a few weeks with more reviews on the Quaife. I have heard that it is best to turn off VDC in order to maximize the full potential of the Quaife. Any comments? Oh yea, cruise control doesn't work. |
The Z is officially paid off! Last payment made yesterday. More money for mods?! LOL

Would you mind sharing the steps to shorten the height of the shifter?
|
did you have the motordyne catback+testpipe setup?
If that was too loud, do you think motordyne+HFC will still be too loud? |

HFC will help, but supposedly ART pipes are advertised as being just as quiet as HFCs. Quote:
