I haven't updated this thread in a while. As some of you already know my wife has had a couple fender benders recently. She is ok but it's taken my attention away from working on the Z. I have a stock pile of parts ready to go on it's just finding the time to do so.

Coming soon.....

oh and it's my 1000th post....:ughdance:

HKYStormFront 12-09-2010 02:51 PM

what does the wife drive?

ClemsonWill 12-09-2010 03:59 PM

She has a 2010 Rav4 limited. Now with a front bumper hanging off and a rear quarter panel with a dent the size of a basketball. I've been shopping for front bumper. I think I can fix that myself and just have it painted. The rear quarter is going to need some metal work. Unfortunately that will be going to the body shop here in the next week or so.

I'm even more irritated that she will be driving my DD in the interim. So I will be driving the Z on the interstate with all the stupid papermill trucks. grr.

HKYStormFront 12-09-2010 05:00 PM

yea that sucks

sucks but the z should be a daily driver not sitting in th:icon23:e garage

I would love to drive it more but my drive to work is awful. I daily drove my S2k for 2 years. The front bumper looked like a 10 yr old dart board. A clear bra would have helped but I have friends that have them and they still get the deep pits. We have a large papermill in the area and all of the wood chip trucks go down the interstate without any covers. Let's just put it this way. I replace windsheilds on my daily driver yearly. Typically they are cracked in multiple places. I just can't bring myself to subject the Z to that abuse.

HKYStormFront 12-10-2010 11:26 AM

dude that sucks

ClemsonWill 12-10-2010 12:16 PM

It does but in a way I choose it. I could move to other parts of Charleston and be fine. I just like where I live.

HKYStormFront 12-10-2010 05:08 PM

nothing wrong with that, i like where i live too, thankfully it's only a 10min drive straight up a 4 lane highway to work that, while frustrating at high traffic times, is really nothing to complain about

Matthew 12-10-2010 10:19 PM

Yeah I dRive mine back and forth to Greer and the bumper looks like s**t. I hate it cause I am so anal about how clean and nice I like to keep my car. And Will, I need advice on spacers and springs. If you have time

ClemsonWill 12-14-2010 12:47 PM

Sorry, just caught this post. Matthew....give me a call.

So now that I have a few days off I have been working on installing some of my parts. Here are a few pictures.

I was not able to finish the fronts. My spring compressor was not strong enough to get the stock springs off. I guess I will be taking the struts up the street to get the springs swapped out.

Hopefully my eibach sway bars will be in within the next few days.

Try an impact wrench. They came right off for me. I hope I got the rear bolts in there right. I wasn't sure how to set them. Anyone make I DIY for this? I did a search and didn't find one.

Looking good! (And familiar, haha.) I can't wait to see the finished product!

BTW. I finally got around to taking a few pics of the results of our labor. I love it! http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...tml#post865341
