And my XM still hasn't cut off. The 3 months free has been over for several weeks. I wonder if I'm going to get a bill for it. |

Matt (nurseryboy) came over today so we could install his Eibach lowering springs and H&R (15mm F and 20mm R) spacers with extended studs. Car look so much better after the install.

Great pics! Thanks so much for your help too!
I can't wait to see your car with the H&R springs and your Volk wheels back on ;) |
Hey Will, do you know if the lowering spring affect the tread life of your tires. And the car looks bad a$$. Wish we could have taken a drive when u where up here. Took my car up to the mtns after the intake install.

Yeah, I wish we had gotten the chance to go out for a mountain drive. I bet the leaves are gorgeous right now. Oh well maybe in the late spring I will be able to make it back up there. |
I haven't updated this thread in a while. As some of you already know my wife has had a couple fender benders recently. She is ok but it's taken my attention away from working on the Z. I have a stock pile of parts ready to go on it's just finding the time to do so.
Coming soon..... oh and it's my 1000th post....:ughdance: |
what does the wife drive?
|
She has a 2010 Rav4 limited. Now with a front bumper hanging off and a rear quarter panel with a dent the size of a basketball. I've been shopping for front bumper. I think I can fix that myself and just have it painted. The rear quarter is going to need some metal work. Unfortunately that will be going to the body shop here in the next week or so.
I'm even more irritated that she will be driving my DD in the interim. So I will be driving the Z on the interstate with all the stupid papermill trucks. grr. |
yea that sucks

I would love to drive it more but my drive to work is awful. I daily drove my S2k for 2 years. The front bumper looked like a 10 yr old dart board. A clear bra would have helped but I have friends that have them and they still get the deep pits. We have a large papermill in the area and all of the wood chip trucks go down the interstate without any covers. Let's just put it this way. I replace windsheilds on my daily driver yearly. Typically they are cracked in multiple places. I just can't bring myself to subject the Z to that abuse.
|
dude that sucks
|
It does but in a way I choose it. I could move to other parts of Charleston and be fine. I just like where I live.
|
nothing wrong with that, i like where i live too, thankfully it's only a 10min drive straight up a 4 lane highway to work that, while frustrating at high traffic times, is really nothing to complain about
|
Yeah I dRive mine back and forth to Greer and the bumper looks like s**t. I hate it cause I am so anal about how clean and nice I like to keep my car. And Will, I need advice on spacers and springs. If you have time
|
Sorry, just caught this post. Matthew....give me a call.
|
So now that I have a few days off I have been working on installing some of my parts. Here are a few pictures.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3315.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3321.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3324.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3326.jpg I was not able to finish the fronts. My spring compressor was not strong enough to get the stock springs off. I guess I will be taking the struts up the street to get the springs swapped out. Hopefully my eibach sway bars will be in within the next few days. |

Try an impact wrench. They came right off for me. I hope I got the rear bolts in there right. I wasn't sure how to set them. Anyone make I DIY for this? I did a search and didn't find one.
|
Looking good! (And familiar, haha.) I can't wait to see the finished product!
BTW. I finally got around to taking a few pics of the results of our labor. I love it! http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...tml#post865341 |

what kinda of headlights are those and where did you get them? Can I get a link to the site you found them on
|
They are the stock headlights done by MR Works. Check them out in the vendor section of the forum. They are great guys and do great work.
|
Not car related but my son, Cooper, was born last night at 5 lbs 12 ounces and measuring 19 1/4 inches. Both my wife and son are doing great. I'm so excited to bring in the new year with him. I probably won't be on much so everyone please have a happy and safe New Year.
Edit: Cooper will most definitely be a car guy! That gene runs in the family too strong. =-) |

Congrats pal...I'm sure it'll be a very exciting 2011 in your household
|
A big congratulations on the new comer! That must have been a great quasi-Christmas present for you and your wife, good to hear he is in training to be a car guy already!
|
A big congrats to you and your wife!! I'm glad to hear that both she and Cooper are doing well. Enjoy time with your new family!
|
Thank you everyone! Adjusting to the short naps instead of a full night of sleep is interesting but well worth it.

So I had a little bit of time today so I finished up my spring install.
Here are some quick garage shots. It was raining and my baby duties did not allow me to take her out but hopefully I will get a chance to take some better shots in the next few days. So far I'm very happy with the drop of the H&R springs. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3427.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3428.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3429.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3430.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3433.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3434.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3435.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3437.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/IMG_3438.jpg |
