It's been a while since I've been able to set off other people's car alarms just by driving by. I miss that. I have an obnoxious streak. Can you tell? :stirthepot:

I have been polite at my University parking garage, but might have some fun with the LTHs next week. :yum:

I thought about it, actually. But I think that'd be a bit much, even for me. Heck, I'm already attracting unwanted attention. This morning after I pulled into a parking spot at the gym, I noticed a cop pull into the parking lot and circle around me just to check things out. The volume of my exhaust isn't normally a problem, but I guess when I go to the gym at 5am and it's still all quiet and peaceful out, my exhaust note stands out a little more. :ugh2:

It would be interesting to see if swapping out the CBE would make a difference on numbers....When did you place your order and what is your ETA?

ETA is 8 weeks. And yes, I plan to do a review, dyno for comparison, etc. That's the whole point! ;)

fairladyZ34 04-26-2010 08:20 PM

im either keeping my exhaust whisper quiet or over the top loud. im working on blacking it out completely so a stealthy all black z would be sweet

semtex 04-28-2010 01:34 PM

Brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s FTW!
Even better -- I got them at wholesale through a contact and didn't have to pay sales tax!:tup:

For this next year I am going to throw on V12, and if I upgrade wheels next year I am really tempted to jump over to the RE-11 but if I stay stock wheels I am definitely trying the NT05.

semtex 04-28-2010 01:38 PM

V12? Not familiar with that one.

Hankook V12, they seem to be (on this forum), a solid alternative to the stock tires for those not looking for extra grip or performance. My car is still some what my daily driver, but I hope to have a second vehicle soon.

semtex 04-28-2010 02:11 PM

". . . not looking for extra grip or performance."

Sorry, string does not compute. Error. Error. Error.

I know, but some people on this forum want longer tire life with similar grip as stock while others want better grip and just say "tire life, what is that?"

semtex 04-28-2010 02:24 PM

You get both improved grip and tire life with PS2s. Treadwear is 220 vs. 140 on the RE-050s. But, alas, improving both at the same comes at a price, literally. PS2s don't come cheap.

theDreamer 04-28-2010 02:36 PM

Very true, will be looking forward to your review of this, both now and in the future on how they hold up over time.
How many miles did you put on the stock RE50s?

semtex 04-28-2010 02:39 PM

10.5k miles. The fronts are still good. It's the rears that are shot. I'm into the wear bars.

MightyBobo 04-28-2010 02:40 PM

BTW, how much of a gain did you get with the LT's, Ben?

It's um . . . complicated. I posted the results here: http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...vids-dyno.html

You are one DIE HARD enthusiast  Are you selling your Stillen CBE/Shorty Headers or are you keeping them around to see how the numbers turn up?

CBE will also go up for sale when I get the F.I.

k20z3 05-02-2010 01:02 AM

Wow enjoyed reading the thread LOVED LOVED your exhaust video on p.14

semtex 09-23-2010 08:55 AM

Well folks, the time has come. I lose the Z next week.

http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...arts-sale.html

On the upside, I did have a nice little 'last blast' with the Z last week:

Most likely a 2002 Mercedes E320 with 37k miles on the odo. This will be up in namby-pamby land (aka Canada).

Yeah, that too.

The E320 is a nice car.

Good luck with everything, man.

DannyGT 09-23-2010 09:43 AM

Edit: Nevermind, read it in the sale's thread. Sorry to hear that man. Good luck with everything.

So you're moving back to Canadia man? But how will I come visit you in Atlanta again :(

Jamaica 09-23-2010 11:03 AM

Nooo, Sem!
You were one of the originals...
We're gonna miss ya, stop by every now and then!

Dembflyr 09-24-2010 04:34 PM

I watched your videos on you tube and followed your thread for months before I bought my Z. Your Z is the reason that I went with the Monterey Blue.

Sorry to hear about your situation and I wish you the best of luck.

RCZ 09-24-2010 06:20 PM

Damn, good luck Ben...hope everything turns out well. Sorry to hear about the car. I know you haven't been active, but this forum is losing a great asset and an even better person. Take care and wish you the best of luck buddy.

Germanguy 06-21-2013 12:49 AM

What will I need in addition to the headers?

Wrapping tape
little exhaust clamps
new gaskets between header and hfc

something else?
