Purchase Day: 6-5-2010

I purchased the car used from CarMax with 6,000 miles on the vehicle. Couldn't be happier with my purchase decision.

First thing I did to the car was change out the interior, cargo, and rear license plate lights with an LED kit from a forum vendor. I also went ahead and got rid of the egg yolk rear taillight look by installing some stealth turn signals.

I also purchased some LEDs for the reverse lights so they matched all the other lighting on the vehicle.

Purchased an Escort Passport radar and the stationary Z mount. I hardwired the radar and placed the remote mute button on one of the button blanks near the cup holder. I love this mod, 100% useful.

6-27-2010
20% tint installed on all 5 windows

6-30-2010
Installed my GTR start button - another one of those small mods that makes a huge difference.

7-11-2010
I couldn't stand the OEM headlights any longer and went ahead and blackhoused mine. I've done several sets in the past, so I wasn't very intimidated on this project and I think it came out well.

Went with semi-flat black on the housing. Sprayed "chrome" spray paint on the shrouds just to give the silver a tiny shine. I used VHT niteshades on the amber swoosh also.

7/21/2010

Got my custom plates for the car. (seen below)

8/1/2010

Installed the retractable front plate (Show-N-Go) in the grill area. Also posted up a DIY for this install.

Got my Blackstone oil analysis back from my first oil change. Since I bought the car used, I was worried about break-in procedures from the previous owner.

Results look good

For this oil change, I went with Pennzoil Ultra 10w-30 and a PureOne filter.

These headlights were one of the harder sets that I've done, but like I said, I've done a few. I'd say that if you feel uncomfortable doing them, try to find someone to do them for you or at least help you. If you break anything while separating the lights, they aren't that cheap to replace.

Sure, I took a few pics of the car yesterday so I'll try to post em up tonight. I think the blackhousing looks better than oem in my opinion, yet with the shrouds silver, they still have an oem look to them.

It would be nice to go boost on this car, but if I do it won't be for at least another 4 to 5 years. The name originated from my other car, which is a 91 honda accord runnin a 30r.

Use the DIYs on the forum, they come in handy! you might be less prone to breaking or melting them if you use a heat gun instead of the oven method.
