Thanks for all the nice comments, I should have a set of sport package Rays and a set of spacers by the end of next week too so there is more to come!

Glad you like it, sorry about the gaskets hehheh

Don't worry about it Justin, we figured it out and all is well! Thanks for taking the time to meet up, you should definitely come by the Malibu meets some time. My OCD still isn't quite at rest so I might do some more polishing this weekend but it certainly shined up well!

Very very nice!

Haha, sorry about that. I couldn't make up my mind over which exhaust I should go for so I just said screw it, I learned my lesson with one off exhausts so I will go with something I know is well proven.

Nice read, enjoyed seeing and hearing of your mods. I am currently looking into your VLED parking lights replacement. So many great mods in your progression thread. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with the community.

Still debating on FI vs. HKS. I really like FI, but I don't like how it hangs so low...

hks is nice and the tips are better. FI well known and sounds great. HKS is quieter.

Unless you are slammed, I find I have plenty of ground clearance dropped on Swifts and don't see a reason to worry but I can see potential issues if you have an aggressive drop.

Finally!

Thanks to XwChriswx, I am now the proud owner of a set of sport package Rays along with a set of 20mm spacers all around! Yesterday, I stopped by Amplified Motorsports to have these installed and to hang out with Chris, Triple's, and Trips JR which was a lot of fun. I was, however, jealous of Chris since it was like Christmas take two with all the stuff he had done haha.

I was very surprised by how much of a difference the Rays and stock RE050 tires made: the car felt much more connected to the road, there was less slop as far as sidewall flex is concerned, and the car hooks up much better in 1st gear. I noticed slightly more tire noise but I don't mind it at all.

Between the Swift springs, 20mm spacers, Rays, and increased negative camber, I think I have achieved what I consider to be the perfect functional stance. I will be taking each wheel off today to clean and polish them front and back but here are some current pictures:

It's coming along very nice Christian

Red__Zed 03-19-2011 01:54 PM

great stance!

christian370z 03-19-2011 04:24 PM

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments! I might end up getting them powder coated or painted as the barrels have some pretty wicked staining. I will use an acid based cleaner as a last resort but if that doesn't fix it, I will need to think of a new color. :)

Small Photoshoot

Since today was so beautiful, I decided to go up to take some shots of my Z with the new wheels, drop, and exhaust as it sits. So I gave it a rinseless wash in the parking lot and drove up into the graduate campus. I did not heavily process these so they aren't really crazy, but I hope you enjoy them!

Up on the parking deck:

A few things I plan to add sometime this year:

-Stillen front spoiler
-GTR start button
-Evo-R FRP rear diffuser
-MAYBE Akebonos (dependent on money)

Thanks for looking. :)

Fly1 Motorsports 03-28-2011 10:25 AM

 Looks great bro!

Juruki 03-28-2011 10:46 AM

looking good man! The wheels made a big difference...
keep on modding :P

ZForce 03-28-2011 09:40 PM

Coming along very good Christian! Once you find some Akebonos and a rear spoiler you pretty have pieced together a sport touring package, minus what?

christian370z 03-28-2011 10:11 PM

Thanks guys! I will have everything from the sport package minus the LSD, but my eventual plan is to install a Quaife limited slip diff. At that point, the only thing I would have left to do is throw some forced induction at her but that is quite a ways down the road I think!

Boost_lee 03-28-2011 10:44 PM

So much nicer Christian! You make me want to bump my fronts up to 20mm...
