Im sure you could rivet and fill it in and have nothing showing as well.

Skirts scratched on just have to pick up some double sided tape and one self tapping screw. Fitment is spot on with the skirts as well, this kit is very impressive.

Front bumper edges all sanded and ready to go.

I set it on the car but didn't take any pics. the whole front of the car is missing so i don't have anything to line it up with, but it seems to fit well.

Jordo! 03-28-2011 06:24 PM

I would just put some touch up paint on the screw holding the sideskirt in place.

Yea that would be the easiest method. Your only talking another 10 minutes of work to fill it in though (not saying im going to do that).

Looks good man. How long have you been working on this car?

Mr&Mrs 03-29-2011 01:34 PM

Thanks, less than a year total time, and I just started taking it apart on Friday last week for this round of mods. The wheels lights and door handles were the first round, that was done a couple weeks after buying the car. The second round was the HFC's and GT Haus CBE.

I have been waiting for quite a while and working with Andrew (Jamaica) for this stage of upgrades (body and another set of wheels). I am currently waiting on Hood (arriving tomorrow) fenders (ariving Thursday) and wheels (ETA unknown at this time). I also just sent my headlights to 180 Customs to have them redone to match the new color.

great going man, hats off to you for doing all this yourself :), we cant even think of doing anything like this at home here

Mr&Mrs 04-01-2011 05:18 PM

Well this is the most body work I have ever done so it has been fun! Why cant you do it at home? I do not have room in my little 2 car garage at my house, so I took over my dads big garage lol.

Bodywork is too much as we usually do have closed garages as you guys just parking bays. And then it's really really HOT. The max I have gone in past in ripping my EVO/G interior and audio install with the car AC on lol

I understand that =)

Here is a copy paste of my fender application from the thread, i just dont want to clutter it up with my build process so Im going to bring it here and finish it.

Ok here are some early photos. I have only had about 3 hours to work on this so far so I don't want to go into to much detail. The quality of the CF is excellent, the fitment is giving me some issues, but nothing that can not be easily fixed. Also remember I have never done any body work like this before so it could be allot simpler than I am finding for someone else.

If you are looking straight at the fender the top right is sticking out about a 1/4 inch from the door. I found that the top screw bracket behind the door may be a little to thick from the mold so I just need to sand it down to fix this issue.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2315.jpg

The gap in the hood to the fender is good, the height just needs to be adjusted (also easy) near the headlights it starts to get high.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2317.jpg

The gap between the door and rear of the fender is also good.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2314.jpg

This is just a straight on shot.

Come Sunday I will be able to make some good progress on the fenders but until then my work hours are holding me back.
Overall I am impressed by the fenders they just need some finesse as with any body work to line up perfectly.

Thanks Andrew!

Mr&Mrs 04-02-2011 02:20 PM

I have more photos and updates on the fitment everything is coming out great. I will try and post some pics from work tonight, I have to leave like 10 minutes ago LOL.

Mr&Mrs 04-02-2011 03:43 PM

Ok I had another hour to work on this today I think I about got it. I can not adjust for the height difference near the headlights yet until I have my headlights back, and my new hood on.

For those of you that were possibly wondering what I meant when I said the top right corner bracket was to thick here is a picture of what it is.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2321.jpg

This was causing it to stick out about a quarter of an inch past the body line (pictured above in a previous post), I simply used a cutting wheel to shave off about a 1/4 inch or half of the thickness of the piece.
It still seems to be plenty ridgid as well.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2319.jpg

Here are a couple more photos of how well it lines up now.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2326.jpg
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/DSCN2327.jpg

So everything is coming along well just need a solid day to work on everything to show some real progress.

Here is a teaser of the new hood :yum:
