Thanks guys, I really want to get it, just heard of the inconsistent nature of seibon & wanted to avoid a project of making it look flawless. I plan on painting the whole thing white, my installer/painter just wants to see the underside of the hood. Where did you purchase the hood? I'm kinda looking for a deal, as we all are ;)

Well the hood I got (purchased from vivid racing) was so perfect that even if you got one that was a "bad batch" I dont think it would cost much to have it fixed. I do not know enough about Seibon to comment on their quality though. Just speak on my experience with them, and that has been great.

Now just so you know, it cost me alot more then the price of the hood to have it properly painted. It has to be sanded all the way down the the CF, very carefully to not mess up the weave, then primed and sanded about 3 times before the paint can be applied. Then it has to be sanded and buffed before the clear is applied and then buffed/sanded again for a flawless finish i.e no orange peal.

So if I were you I would not even get CF unless you think your doing it for weight savings, and even that is very little over Stock/FRP.

Well the design of the hood is what I like, if it was in frp then I'd order that version. Pm me how much u paid. I have a good painter that usually charges alot so I'm already prepared, lol

What are the screens held on with?

Mr&Mrs 05-05-2011 04:09 PM

It has little metal tabs with what looks like resin gooped on one end to hold it on. Then you just fold them down through a hole in the mesh. I still need to cut those pieces down I was in a hurry when I put them in.

Took the car down to the 1/4 mile track last week. Here are 2 of my 6 videos all times were so close no reason to post them all. I ran five 13.3xx and one 13.4xx caught me sleepin lol.

Here are my vids:

Car is not tuned, 7AT, HFC's, GtHaus CBE, found out all my CF is heavier then stock parts, and so are my wheels. First time at the track I was hoping for a 13.5xx with all those variables, and ended up running 13.3xx's so I am pretty happy.

best run was a
13.34x 1/4
1.9xx 60'

I hit the drag strip as soon as they opened. I was trying to get a baseline for my future mods, but I think I overdid it :roflpuke2:

I'm still gonna try and see what I can do once I get some bolt ons, but that probably won't be for a while. I just have to wait for the right weather to come around.
