Very nice!

Very nice TJ! Every time I look at your thread you make me spend more money on my car. I've got to stop checking out your mods. :bowrofl:

By the way here are a couple of pictures of a 370Z from the Triangle Z Club Show last October. The car started out as a base 370Z then the owner added the full Nismo body kit, Volk wheels and a Stillen supercharger. It was the first time I had seen the full Nismo body kit on a Monterey Blue 370Z. If you look closely you can see that when they were getting ready for show they put the rear wheels on the front and the front wheels on the back. That's why the stance looks weird.

Looks great, I think I read in another thread that youre staying with the sport spoiler? Any other plans for the body?

tjlazer 03-26-2011 05:38 PM

Yeah staying with the sport spoiler, might go with a Mines add on painted blue!

April 18, 2011:

Latest mod: Got tired of scraping my new Nismo fascia! It sits lower than base, and I am dropped on Swifts, so there was no other way. Was using some 2X6's before...

Bridjit rolling curb ramps! Picked them up in person since they are local. Saved on shipping.

Cool I never saw those before.

tjlazer 05-11-2011 05:29 PM

Well the body shop messed up. They originally painted the whole front bumper blue. I had told them to paint the grill area black but they forgot. They tried to play it off. When I mentioned it to them they were like "Oh yeah we are going to paint that black, we are not done." I said won't that cause an issue with rock chips? They said Nope. Well my better judgement said otherwise. Well I was right. After 3 weeks I was starting to see lots of little "blue" rock chips! Not good! I was like WTF! What's it going to look like in 6 months? Went back and they said "Sorry, we can't avoid that from the rock chips". They were willing to repaint it, biut all that would do is prolong the apparenly quick return of rock chips. I just let it go. Not worth arguing over it and dealing with this BS. I will simply rattle can some Matt black High Temp engine spray paint and see if that holds up ok. Or I might try PlastiDip or black Vinyl. We shall see. Just waiting for the damn rain to stop already! Gotta love Seattle.

April 2011. Rear Nismo bumper finally picked up from the body shop. I hope to have it installed soon!

May 10, 2011. Nismo edition side skirts finally installed. Wanted to do them while I did the rear bumper but figured I'll do it now while it was nice out and I had some spare time! It's a flippin rare a$$ day when the sun is out and I hate doing mods in the rain. Good timing as the next day it was raining cats and dogs. I hope to get the rear bumper installed next...

when is the rear bumper going in? what happened to your stock front bumper and side skirts? wanna sell them?

tjlazer 05-11-2011 08:57 PM

I have them but a few of the snaps inside the side skirts broke. I think they can be glued in place though. They are in good shape otherwise. What a PITA to remove!

Boost_lee 05-11-2011 11:10 PM

Looks great TJ!

When you do the Nismo rear bumper cover are you going to keep the OEM spoiler?

tjlazer 05-17-2011 12:16 PM

^yep, for now! Thinking of maybe doing a Mines rear add on (or replica)

tjlazer 05-18-2011 08:10 PM

I was at Les Schwab today playing with their customize your car wheel/tire program... ;)

You've put quite a bit into the car. I'm not into the NISMO front bumper and side skirts though.

tjlazer 05-20-2011 01:47 AM

Rear bumper installed today. :) The fit is awesome. Install was a breeze, and I did not have to remove my rear wheels. Just jacked it up one side at a time to get access to the clips and screw in the fender liner, then put it on some wood blocks to help lift the vehicle up higher since I am so tall. Better on the back that way. Only took a few hours to do the job, and it was done right with no damage or broken clips.

Nissan messed up and ordered me the front NISSAN emblem instead of the rear so I couldn't put it on. I might try to install my original one from my old bumper, if I can remove it nicely withuot damaging it. We shall see. If not I will have to order the rear emblem.

What about with the Nismo rear bumper then? ;)

ZPirate 05-20-2011 08:32 AM

TJ the rear bumper looks awesome too! I like it with the OEM spoiler. The Nismo spoiler is the one thing about the Nismo body kit that to me looks somewhat over the top.

I'm really liking those Nismo side skirts. I may have to get some of those.

kielbasa16 05-20-2011 10:02 AM

Very nicely done!

birdmanx1 05-20-2011 12:06 PM

Great progress man on the blue Nismo and hats off for doing everything yourself  Beautiful 300ZX Turbo in the garage, you are making me miss my old one even more.

They dont produce it in Monterey Blue, but I suppose you could of had one vinyl wrapped - not sure which would come out cheaper.

Well at the time the Nismo just came out and was like 40K, and when I bought in Jan 2010 I did actually try to find one and there weren't any in my part of the country. And the ones I did find out of state they wanted like 36K+. I also wanted blue and was just not going to be painting a brand new car... When I found this one it was a year old and still on the lot new, so I got it at below invoice. :) I like to do mods slowly so I figure I would do it piece by piece. It's probably more $ in the end, but it's funner this way!

Kingbaby 05-24-2011 11:07 AM

agreed!

fun either way

No sh!t! We need to have a meet soon. You going to the meet on 6/4 at Bellevue Square Mall?

Xplicit97 05-28-2011 10:29 PM

Looks great cuz, you definitely inspired me on my Z purchase. Still contemplating which route to go with mine. Torn between going the Nismo route, or possibly the Stillen kit. Definitely going with urethane opposed to fiberglass. Gary said I have Z envy.. Anyhow looks great we'll have to get out on a cruise once the weather gets better, and work permits.
