I spy with my eyes, a nice, fairly flat torque curve - look twords the end of the power band, it looks like it doesn't fall flat on its face, nearly as much. The HFC-only dyno looked like around ~210 ft/lbs, and the HFC+CBE looks like ~220. Nice, solid gains across the board.

However, I'd love to see the graph with RPM's reverenced and not MPH.

Thats the other part of the equation. Peak dyno numbers are good, but there are so many things that can affect your actual numbers, like 114 degree weather for example. Just look how much the peak numbers fluctuated on the three back to back baseline runs.

Yes that is on thing we noticed as well is that the power now pulls until redline. Would be cool to get the rev limiter bumped up a bit to see if it keeps going! That will have to wait though. Technosquare, you listening? :D

Just got back from dyno test #2 with the berk cat-back/x-pipe. Gains jumped a little on both horsepower and torque. Weather was another blazing hot 112 degrees today at the dyno shop.

Dyno video coming soon. I think the X-Pipe setup sounds better too!

So a gain of almost 13whp from the x-pipe version. In 112 degree heat and with HFCs already installed. Not bad! Not bad at all!

Yessir! After comparing to a few other exhaust company's results I am VERY impressed! For example, the F.I. exhaust gained 20.38whp over their baseline with the stock cats. Then they added their HFCs to the mix with the cat back exhaust and the HFCs only made an additional 3.54whp. Mainly because the cat-back already had freed up most of the bottleneck in the exhaust system. On the flip side, we tested the Berk HFC's with the stock cat-back and made 19whp, then made an ADDITIONAL 13whp with the cat-back exhaust. So if you take into consideration all of that then I think the Berk did very well compared to the competition!

Well when you put it like that, I guess Berk did alright. ;)

I am sure we will find out exactly how they do in comparison as soon as the F.I. exhausts start finding their way onto Zs which already have the Berk HFCs.

X-Pipe dyno video is up!

Or, conversely, when someone puts a Berk CBE onto a car with stock cats and does a before/after dyno.

Hmm...at the end of the clip, it says +13whp and +8tq over baseline with stock exhaust. Thing is, that kinda implies that your baseline was completely stock, i.e., you're running stock cats as well, which isn't the case. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, by phrasing it as such, you might be selling yourself short. People won't take into account that you already have HFCs on the car and think "+13whp? Is that it?"

True, I am working on a new video though once they decide which version goes to production. The final Berk cat-back video will have the dyno vids, in car, idle & rev, photos, etc. Then these will be deleted.

M.Bonanni 07-17-2009 04:47 PM

Ok, back to the project car as a whole. Now that the exhaust is on and testing is done I have these projects waiting for the car next!

- Unorthodox Racing Crank Pulley
- Blue Batmobil smoked tail light and third brake light overlays
- Those carbon side skirt things from VIP-Status' car
- And a new sub-frame tie brace to try from GTSPEC
- And a Project Kics magnetic drain plug that will hopefully fit in the diff, if not it will go in the engine.

:D

Can't wait to see the final vid
