Just got word that the finned differential cover from Nismo that fits the 350Z/G35/Titan/Armada/etc. will not fit the 370Z. :(

I was so confident that it would that I almost ordered one lol. Its the same LSD as the 350Z so I figured the whole rear end housing and everything was the same. Guess not.

Interesting ........ I would think because of the same differential (R200)being used, it would fit. Do you know what the difference is, that makes it not fit?

Just a different shape apparently.

Got bored around the house today so I decided to de-badge the rear of the 370Z. :D

^^^Thanks. Agreed.

Oh, also, I forgot to post about this, but it seems that the SPC Front Control Arms are hitting the top of the wheel well under load. I hit a small pothole the other day and heard and felt a big thud coming from the front of the car. It was a metal to metal thud not the tire hitting the fender liner. I haven't investigated this hunch yet but I have no idea what else it would have been since the arms were the only thing changed at that time. Hopefully there is an easy solution otherwise the stock arms will go back on and the wait for SPL arms continues. I do not want to be hitting the control arm at the track every turn. The limited travel and the hard hits would probably have a more negative effect on handling than not running enough negative camber. It also seems that travisjb may also have the same problem. Both he and I are going to investigate it on our cars in the near future.

Re the SPC control arms hitting... swung by redline motorsports on the way out of town friday and we took a look at how things are lining up... could not see anything to indicate that rubbing was occurring, but it is uncanny that both Mike and I experienced the same noise under the same conditions... need to look into this further before we can say definitively what is happening

Car did well on my trip to Utah... I HIGHLY recommend the twisties between arizona and utah! I'll try to capture some video of the canyon driving on my way back

Cool cool, just as an FYI for you guys, my SPC stuff isnt make any sounds or rubbing afaik. Everything seems to be in order.

jasonhoutx 07-05-2009 11:34 PM

I thought I was going crazy. I have the SPC control arms also and have the same noise. No rubbing can be found on tires or fender lip. It has to be the arms.

travisjb 07-06-2009 01:54 AM

For me, happens when I'm cornering then hit mid-corner bump.... only when turning right so far... not ready to issue a verdict yet, but need to keep looking into spc arms... rcz may have a slightly higher ride height set or just hasn't been driving hard enough ;) time will tell
