Updated Nismo

A few weeks ago whilst fitting my side window scoops I badly scratched my boot trim with some of the scrap mesh I had used on the scoops. I sent the trim off to be hydro dipped the same colour as my car wrap. Refitted the new trim yesterday and very pleased with the end product. Some before and after photos for you all.
Last photo is best I could get given the boot is a dark area to photo

Looks good. I would be even more worried about scratches now!

cv129 08-15-2019 11:42 AM

Plans to do the other plastic trims?

Rusty 08-15-2019 06:50 PM

That's different.

PAYCO 08-16-2019 03:27 AM

Its very durable and I have no plans to put anything that may damage it in the boot. Will just be detailers and micro fibre cloths etc for car shows. In terms of doing more I may get the backs of the seats dipped in the same colour but not sure. Sometimes less is more.

Its a shame you didn't apply that logic to the the exterior of your Nismo IMHO.

PAYCO 08-16-2019 05:26 AM

Stormshite....What ?. Opinion not shared in the UK as I won best in show at a Jap Performance car show with 200 jap cars last weekend.

Pointless gibe.

NorthStyle 08-16-2019 06:39 AM

I really hope you have plans on doing the entirety of the interior black plastics in the same manner. Currently, there's no uniformity whatsoever, only an abrupt color change from the cabin to the hatch area...

As for winning awards, that's neither here nor there. You'd have to show what the level of your competition was to establish a baseline.

PAYCO 08-16-2019 06:50 AM

I don't need to show the baseline. GTRS. Nismo 370z, 350z, R32/R34, 240Z/360Z,Skylines, MX5s etc etc. My car is adored in the UK. In the UK we respect what people individually decide to do to their cars.

How ridiculous!! :shakes head:

In the US, you're wrong if I say you're wrong, dammit!! :gtfo2:

LOL jk man... I like the hydrodip. It looks good and is unique. Personally, I would never do it to my Z. You've got some interesting stuff going on that doesn't really do it for me. But it's not my car, so more power to ya. IMO you get way too many negative comments on it. I'm glad to see you aren't stooping to their level anymore with your responses.

My point is that you don't need to try and justify your own taste by saying other people love/adore/worship/etc whatever you're doing which is something you've done just about every time someone makes a comment about your car that you disagree with. As I've said before, if you like it then that's all that matters. Beyond that, I've lived in the UK... let's not kid ourselves about a nonexistent "respect all builds" car culture, especially when StormWhite is contradicting you a few posts up.

PAYCO 08-19-2019 08:57 AM

For the record I have also lived in the US and I am married to an American. You never know I may move over there in the future and haunt you all with my car and my mods.

Rusty 08-19-2019 11:21 AM

Think you would give a couple of them strokes. :rofl2:

Just realised how rude you actually are.

First time I have revisited this thread.

I went to Japfest Silverstone 2019 as an exhibitor didn't see you there, must have been 200+ GTR's and Z's not including everything else? :wtf2:

Spartan 1771 08-21-2019 05:44 PM

It's your car, your cash and your time, so do what what you like. From time to time I take criticism for my build and how often I drive my car. Frankly I don't give a crap what others think. I'm too old and too busy to care for a single second. Don't let others get you bent out of shape with their opinions. It's just not worth it.

Just my $0.02

You should have asked around on our stand as everyone knows me. I was on business in the USA so couldn't attend. Maybe you should try being more active on the UK site although I did see you get slaughtered on there for your posts before.

Pretty durable mate. Will withstand most abrasive things like keys scratching etc and a fair bit of bashing around. I would say its as durable as paint if that helps.

My god, someone actually bought those? Are you building your car just to troll people?

Are you getting the rest of the "kit"? http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...er-scoops.html

They look great and a number of the UK guys are in the process of fitting them too.

"Great" is subjective.

Honestly, at this point you should go all in. LED windshield wiper nozzles, under car neon, all of that early 2000s Hot Import Nights stuff.

Yet again you post comments indicative of most of the guys on here. You add no value just your opinion and try to make a joke of it. I am glad there are a handful of decent members on here but I have to say they are in the minority. I see the stormy from the UK has 'liked' your post too which endorses why hes not welcome on our UK forum. I guess your car is oem and safe or do you guys always club together and hunt in packs. Pathetic really.

Just to put all this into context, I enjoyed the monthly meets for breakfast with some great people but when it came to the UK Forum things were a little different.

The only seriously active thread at the time was about a Porsche 911 owner (previously a Z owner) posting about his CHEAP BMW Mini Cooper S Supercharged renovation.

I read this thread with interest and considered buying one myself in a similar condition.

I posted that the "Cheap" purchase had become an expensive one after numerous essential but then superfluous upgrades.

This was not met with approval by other long time Forum members who rallied around the long time member & poster, so I left and now I only post on this Forum.

I miss the breakfast meets and the people I actually met from the Forum but:

Perhaps we can leave it at that and just accept I personally believe you have ruined a great car. :tiphat:

Chuck33079 08-22-2019 07:33 AM

Yes, most of us on this forum think you are actively making your car worse every time you buy a part.

My car is far from OEM, dude. It's ok - you love the stuff you did on your car. That's great. Most of the people here think it looks like ****. Maybe that's differences between the car scene here and over there. Who knows? But, when you put it up on the internet asking for opinions, you're going to get people who think your car would look better if you had just taken a dump on the hood instead.

Maturity of a 5 year old. I rest my case. Is this an adult site of mature people of just a bunch of so called car enthusiasts who behave badly. Your thread on gear knobs says it all really based on the latest comments. Pathetic. Try making this into a proper car forum and not a site to critique folk without any constructive comments of any worth.

Then leave? You don’t want to be here, you’re not wanted here, so maybe go somewhere your unique tastes are valued?

Not going anywhere mate. We don't like bullies in the UK and we certainly don't get intimidated by them.

You might want to learn how to punctuate correctly too as your punctuation is pathetic.

There has been a couple of members buy those scoops over the years. Think the last one removed the little window and routed a hose from there to his rear brake calipers. Can't of his name. But he leased his Z and turned it into a track only car. :icon14:

I left of my own accord and AFAIK can log back in anytime I want. You are merely a member just like me.

It's OP's build thread. It's his money, his car. I'm just interested to see where this ends up at.

Yeah, I remember him. He's the only one who actually made these work (kinda).

Its not really his build thread its all about hydrodipping to remedy his damage due to the installation of side scoops.
