I know I will hear you spent x amount of dollars on the car so don't cheap out, trust me if you can dump thousands into a z trust me I'm happy for you but a lot of us are on a budget but we really love z cars.
That said I will not cheap out on stuff like tires, oil, gas and such.
So let's begin with the car, I wanted a new Nismo, lol, came to my senses and desided on a used sport model with a 20k budget, looked for almost a year and found a 2014 370z sport in black cherry, 7,800 miles, guy got a dwi his bad luck was my good luck, 20k done deal http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1500680138

First time the wife was in the car she looked at me and said man this thing is to quiet, I don't like a lot of noise so after searching here I decided a axle back was for me, beluga sent me a nice one for 269 bucks to my house http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1500682009

http://http://www.the370z.com/attach...1&d=1500681894Well because I'm a truck driver I get rewards points at the truckstop so I save and get free stuff like coolers, tvs, and GPS, I used my points to get a 6in Garmin and had it mounted on the bottom left windshield but I wanted my phone to be there, I was hoping it would fit in the space where the navigation would be but it was to big, so I cut down a suction cup mount, jb welded it to a piece of flat plastic and bolted it to the door and hid all the wires, of course I picked up a door on line for 45 bucks for later if I want to go back to stock

Next up, I'm not going to lower the car and I like the wheels but I needed spacers, I had put cheap ones on my wife's Honda fit but heard that some had issues with them, Amazon 100 bucks for a set of 4 20mm spacers, happy to say they worked great with no vibrations! Next up was the radio, I really don't need nothing fancy just the ability to plug in a memory stick and Bluetooth, not wanting to do the change myself so this one I paid to have the head unit changed, head unit, adapter plate, steering wheel adapter, installed total 376 bucks http://http://www.the370z.com/attach...1&d=1500684642

So far, I haven't seen you "cheap out" on anything. Looks to me like you are just a very good shopper. ;)

Keep up the good work and keep posting. :driving:

Had a couple of vinyl stickers made, great thing about stickers is if you don't like them they just come off, lol

TreeSemdyZee 07-21-2017 11:55 PM

Congrats on the find.

Black Cherry is definitely one of the better colors.

brizzie35 07-22-2017 11:41 AM

I had the same budget but I ended up buying a 2012 sport/touring 6sp black cherry as well!
Congrats on the buy!

Well I don't like running wires much so I desided to put in a remote fuse box behind the passenger seat, ran power wires, built a box that dropped into the storage shelf, made the top so you could put stuff on top of it.
Came out OK, 50 bucks for fuse panel, 20 for wires and connectors and wood I had laying around

90 miles

DamnThatZGuy 07-22-2017 05:51 PM

Damn, I'm jealous I spent 24k on a 2009 sport touring with 22k miles from Carmax about two years ago. It's fully loaded with persimmon seats but still...

You should convert your car to nismo. That's what I did and it didn't cost much. I spent about 2k for entire front and rear conversion including paintjob.

Well considering how much the Nismo cost, you're paying a lot less for the look :) I guess I cost me about 1.4k but I bought some DRL, decals, and other misc parts which are not needed for the conversion.

put two or three washers under the right side mounting bracket on the exhaust to shim it down so both exhaust tips are spaced equal.

Hanging a Walmart bag over the shifter was not going to cut it so I found an old plastic planting pot, cleaned and zipped tied to the rear brace, not so pretty but out of the way and works and cost was zero http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1501529433

How about a shot of the yellow lettering on your rear passanger side wheel? Looks pretty clean/unique.
