Give me an update on fitment of the fenders. I'm looking to get their other version next summer.

Full Carbon Fiber haha no paint, I figure if the Frp/partial carbon fiber fenders were different in price enough to get it painted then I would but it was only a little cheaper. So not enough to paint, I just went full CF. Will keep them full CF too. I need to look into a front bumper now but just need to get the money again. The front bumper will look retarded for a while with a nice full CF bumper and fenders lol. I wanna do either a full CF Fujimura Front Bumper or a Full CF Amuse Front bumper.

I will give you an update on the fitment when I get them of course.
I told Lohit to take his time and try and make sure their are as perfect as possible. Right now with the swamped Black Friday and Cyber Monday/Week I'm looking 4-5 weeks production time. I'll get to go pick them up or something since I live like 20 mins from their shop :happydance:

Honestly the VF1 fenders would be a good deal right now, you should message Lohit and see how much of a discount you cant get. Just tell him Gavin told you to contact him. :tiphat:

Ended up ordering a new set of badges from EVO-R to match the color scheme I have going now.
Went Silver Carbon Fiber and the Black Z Emblem.

Thanks brotha, Yeah progress is going a bit faster than I had hoped and my bank accounts and credit are screaming at me for it lmao. Most of the stuff has been more maintenance too lol. About 2k miles from the 100k mark keeping up on everything though so I can make everything last.

As for the Hood and the Fenders, well that was just Christmas gifts to my baby lol :stirthepot: :driving:

Like my reason for my new wheels, was that I had two cracks in my back two rims. My back left wheel had 14lbs psi when I took it into the shop and checked it out. Luckily when I felt the left side driving weird I was only around the corner from the shop. It was either spend close to $500 fixing those old XXR's or I could grab a deal on some AG's haha So went with the new set.

Thanks again though! :tiphat:

birdman71 02-04-2016 01:13 PM

Updates!!! haha
As it turns out it doesn't look like I will be leaving for this job I was looking into. Went through both interviews and it was down to 3 people or so and didn't make the cut. So I'm keeping the Z and installing everything too.

2/3/2016: Rear Tires changed to a pair of Brand new Hankook Ventus V12's 295/30/20 (used a random google pic lol)

http://i64.tinypic.com/2ms0pyq.jpg

Scheduling 2 days for the Z to go in next week and get the Hood, Fenders, Clutch, Flywheel, Pressure Plate, and Elim Kit

Speaking of the Fenders and Hood, the Fenders are sitting over at Fly1 and Lohit has informed me that the filament looks amazing, hoping for some pictures later today to post up. The hood will be in sometime next week as well.

looking to have some major installs done here by February's end!

Thanks brotha!
I would definitely go with Z1's csc elim kit. I hear nothing, but good things about how there are no longer any problems. I hear of wayyy to many problems with the HDCSC that for an extra $100 or so, I will go with not having a problem anymore haha

Next up for me and what a lot of my tax refund is going to go towards is a new set of coilovers and camber arms. Looking at what I should get right now

FairladyZ40th 02-04-2016 03:06 PM

Get some rally grade suspension haha nice and tough :p

Lmao Mig, figure out your login lol?

and nahh I was looking at the HKS hipermax viper setup and the SPC camber arms and toe bolts. I was also thinking about the Megan Racing Camber arms and toe bolts. Haven't gotten my tax refund yet so don't know what my spending limit is yet hahah :rofl2:

birdman71 02-04-2016 05:01 PM

Got a beautiful little piece in the mail today courtesy of a fellow forum member: lCintron :tiphat:

It will be installed later today
http://i65.tinypic.com/2drvsrq.jpg

Also talked to Lohit over at Fly1 Motorsports earlier today and he sent me some pictures of the fenders I have waiting for me over there. If the fenders look this good I cant wait to see what the hood looks like!

Was thinking Megan Racing. and Hell yes!! I can't wait to put them on haha :happydance:

All they use is carbon fiber. The showing portion is just sanded down and clear coated. The checkered pattern is just the look of raw carbon fiber.
I will definitely take as many pics as possible haha!

When you want to get all those CF pieces go to Lohit at Fly1 Motorsports and tell him Gavin sent you over and he will hook you up brotha! Especially the more pieces you order at once.

You can never have to much Carbon Fiber... :yum:

birdman71 02-15-2016 12:56 PM

The Z went into the shop on 2/11/16 after work for the Clutch/ Flywheel, Pressure Plate and Z1 elim kit to be installed. Hoping on being able to have the fenders installed as well before I pick it up today, but we will see.

Hoping to have the hood delivered to my shop here this week as well

And for the mesh on the vents I was thinking about going with a gold colored mesh. I think it'd look good paired with the Carbon Fiber pattern.:driving:

FairladyZ40th 02-15-2016 08:36 PM

Gold on CF on blue? Idk man too many colors? Heh sample? I'm looking at that csc elim kit if it goes bad again I'ma do that for sures

Eventually my goal is to have a full RAW carbon fiber build. so it would be Carbon fiber with gold accented mesh.

The CSC Elim kit is a great investment for $100 more than an HDCSC. Make sure your clutch matches up with the types they have available, there is a bushing and seal that are specific for each brand of clutch. Otherwise your SOL and have to try and get another one form Z1 and wait for that to come.

you would need to take this to a shop though. Even the guys at my shop were telling me it was a bitch to do and one of the brackets needed to be modified to fit it correctly. I just got my car back late Monday night.

REVIEW ON NEW CLUTCH:
"HOLY HELLL!!!!! WHAT DID I DO TO MY CAR?!!?!"
That is what I said to the guys at my shop when I first pressed on the clutch after the install. Although even after just getting it back at like 8 oclock last night I've gotten pretty used to it and its started to break in as well.
This clutch is a very short and solid feel and has a great release. I would suggest getting something a bit lighter for a daily driver or if you drive hills as I am almost having to slam the clutch to shift with it brand new right now. My calf is also a rock after driving anywhere lol. I will be looking into a short shifter to make shifting easier with the shorter and solid performance clutch.

Wouldn't something along the lines of the RJM clutch pedal be of use since you could adjust the engagement window? Or is my train of thought off..? Cool build either way :)

I would look into that, but once the clutch breaks in about 2k miles I will be able to adjust engagement. Already have that planned unless I get super used to the feel of how it is.

***UPDATE***

Sadly on my way home from work my revolutions did a funny bounce while I was sitting at a light idling. Dropped from 700rpm to 400rpm, almost stalled, shot back up to 1100rpm and dropped to 600rpm and then settled at 700rpm again. When I started going I hear a mental pinging and clanging for about 2 or 3 seconds and then it stopped. After that power steering was out and the car had half the usual whp to it.
I got the car to my shop and the mechanic after like 2 or 3 mins of joking around and asking what happened with my friend and the mechanic, the mechanic popped my hood and was able to pull the pulley belt out near the intakes with plenty of slack.

I know my pulley belt and pulleys needed to be fixed already due to sounds being made under the hood and my Z having like 99,700 on the clock, but damnnn I only had my car for 22 hrs before I had to take it back and get something else fixed... :shakes head:

At least at this point I'll be able to fix my now blown out catalyzers and install my CF fenders and do my Rear Camber arms for alignment.

Kinda pissed but kinda happy that 3/4 of my 100k miles maintenance is done. :ughdance: :ugh2:

maybe so brotha haha gotta find a good enough deal for the cost of labor that it will accrue.

birdman71 02-22-2016 02:13 PM

Got the Car back from my shop Friday 2/19/16 later in the evening and with the new pulley system:
Oem Pulley Wheels,
Oem Pulley Tension belts
Oem Pulley belt,
Oem Power Steering belt

Plus having the clutch and CSC elim done as of recently the Z is moving like a champ again. Have a new paper weight too lol. The pulley wheel has 3 bearings left inside lol. Only missing a couple bearings.

Now just have to figure out why my TPMS light is blinking and staying on, also have the fenders from Fly1 to still be put on as well as the Hood.

I was originally going to but if I did the lightweight pulleys it was going to take another 2 days for parts to arrive and then the 2 days at the shop for install. I couldnt afford to be without my car for another 2 days. And how it would have worked out, That first extra day would have been this last Saturday, they aren't open Sundays, and then Monday would have finished the install. Then would have been getting my car back later today. SO those 2 days, turns it into another 4 without my car lol. :icon14: :shakes head:

I got my car back last Friday night by doing the OEM pulley wheels, Plus the weight I'll be dropping from my Fenders and Hood when I install them is more than enough to compensate for using OEM pulley wheels :happydance:

birdman71 03-02-2016 05:34 PM

Going in tonight 3/2/16 to get the SPC Rear Camber Arms put onto the Z and then alignment on Saturday!

It'll be driving like a champ again... $5k later... lol

More adjustment for wheel alignment. The OEM rear camber arms are usually maxed out on adjustment. My front alignment is fine but my rear needs to be done so I don't burn through my new rear tires. Not only that the arms are thicker and more durable than OEMs

Welll shieeettt... didn't get the carbon fiber stuff installed because just before the install date I found a new set of intake for the Z and since my passenger side one is cracked not allowing the water lock filer to work properly I decided to post pone the CF install until I get the intakes in and do everything in one shot.

Thanks to Chad over at Concept Z Performance for looking around and finding one of the only in stock Nismo Long tube CAI

Some more updated pics of the Z when I had the time to wash and shine her the other day.

Used Eagle One Never dull wadding polish and a microfiber towel

birdman71 04-11-2016 05:40 PM

As of 04/07/2016 I had my brand new Nismo R-tune long tube Cold Air Intake system installed as well as the Fly1 Motorsports Carbon Fiber RS1 Vented Fenders.

The filament of the Carbon fiber is B-E-A-U-TIFULL :happydance:
The fitment is also amazing, The only flaws I see are the little space by the crevice of the headlight, but it is not like the fender corner is crooked in there like a lot of people have problems with, mine is straight on, just about a quarter inch short, possibly less.
The only other flaw I see is the passenger side fender has a slightly bigger gap between the hood and the fender.

They are an amazing addition to the Z and I can't wait for later this week when I go back in to get the Carbon Fiber SS Vented Hood installed.

For now here are some pics :driving:

I'll post some pictures later this week if the install happens. I am also waiting on a front side Fender liner since mine tore off a while back. Tryna protect the new intake filters a bit from rain and dirt.

What do you mean if you keep the Z? :icon14:
