Glad to see your ride getting some love. keep us updated with what you choose for a color.

I do have a kandy brandywine I sort of like. My problem is I have no vision as I can't see the car for anything else that what it is. That's a problem when you need paint , have a drop off date and no idea what the &$&$ color your gonna change it too. First world problems :inoutroflpuke:I'm trying to lean off the kandy and go more pearl or metallic as changing parts later will make it very difficult and costly to match the Kandy later. I appreciate your oppinion and it helps as that's one of the shades I was already considering :tiphat:

Now I can use the help of my forum brothers and sisters :tiphat: as I have spent countless nights with every variation of HOK I could come up with and even some of the variance line of ppg paints that color shift. Having a tough time narrowing down my paint. So many cool combos. I just don't have the eye like Jason and Gene for this sort of stuff :stirthepot: so.... Anyone have any suggestions??? I have a few weeks b4 I purchase materials so what ya all say? I'm open to any suggestion at this point :tiphat:

Greeting's Mr John,

Tonight I am thinking Lamborghini Pearl Orange

Wishing all the best for you John

Put the car on jack stands today and had the tires rebalanced. Cusco ramps ramps came in very handy today and barely cleared the front bumper. I feel a cup kit in my very near future :icon17:
Did find that the front two tires have flat spots in them from sitting to long :shakes head: balanced them out but not sure how long that will stay tru. The rear tires had no flat spots at all, strange cuz they never spin with all that power :rofl2: I guess if it was all wheel drive the front would be better off haha.
I had a great assistant thou who used her mittens as mechanics gloves to push the tires around for me :p

The Z is in for paint

Finally was able to make the journey to Ikandy paintworks today to drop the Z off for some proper love. I'm really excited to see how she turns out over the next 6 weeks or so. I will try and post some things up that are worth it as I get them. Sema cars are already coming in so I'm glad mine is there to get done first :roflpuke2: #nosema2016 #notafeaturecar #itsstillstock

That's not a bad color. 3mo old baby poop. Only problem is that the color in not homogeneous. Color and consistency differences throughout.

Work began today

I saw on my IG feed that the front bumper is off the car and fiberglassing the fujimura front bumper to flow perfectly with the varis side skirts is going well. I will have to admit it was harder to see that than I thought it was going to be. Seeing the car tore apart to the bone by someone other than myself is going to be a terrifying feeling with all of the issues I have had with shops I don't have to name that make people shudder. I know it's is awesome good hands , just reminds me of all the not so god hands. Hopefully when I get up there Friday to check on it in person I will be able to get a few pics to share. Can't believe I finally bit the bullet and it's going down :excited:

Hotrodz 04-11-2016 05:28 PM

Thank you sir :tiphat: that's much appreciated. This project has been more about conquering and finishing the project more than what sort of financial sense it makes :bowrofl:
So trust me when I say I'm looking forward to seeing you then.

Yesterday they started fiberglass work to mold the front bumper and varis side skirts to make a seemless flow from one piece of the other. The crappy IG screen shots are all I have but its better tha nothing :ughdance:

Today they flowed most of the front bumper and looks about ready to block it all out and prime it. Sorry but the IG screen shots are the only pics I have.

GaleForce 04-12-2016 11:15 PM

Very cool! I forgot you have the Fuji bumper, awesome combo!

theDreamer 04-13-2016 08:00 AM

I was wondering who owned that car when it popped up on IG, looking good.

DatsunFTW 04-13-2016 10:24 PM

Haha. I guess I was commenting on your Instagram post expressing the proper body moulding. Can't wait to see it all together!

It wouldn't let me load the video, u can see it in my IG link in my sig. The guy who has been glassing my front bumper is working away and they slide fire crackers across the ground up next to him. He is sanding and boom boom boom. Shop hazing as he is the new guy lmao. I sort of freaked at first and then the second time I watch it I realized me wheels are all covered up and my car is far from being freshly painted and done haha. I messaged frank (painter owner of Ikandypaintworks) and said Dayum I hate to see what u do to these guys when they are not working there tail off :bowrofl: they are doing a good job and having fun at the same time. Can't beat that.

Even thou I halted the progress a few days with a possible change they began working on it again. I'm going to check out the let down panel tomorrow to see if the paint I bought is gonna be what I think it is. Otherwise It's back to buying more paint and spraying again and repeat. So much for buying cheap paint :ugh2:
I think adding these varis carbon fiber vents into the fujimura bumper is gonna look nice

Also -- what skirts are you running?

To be honest I never made it up there to see the full spray out panels to decide how much of the base I want to come through, so you have actually seen everything I have :bowrofl: painter had it in his IG to mess with me

Skirts I'm actually going to go with nismo side skirts. I need to thank Hotrodz for the 4 pics of his nismo he had in his album :p and bullit for pointing me in the direction that nismo skirts would mod nice also. I have been wanting new skirts since mine have been mostly destroyed :shakes head:
