Interest in a headlight baking party?!

Hey guys. I have some interest from a couple guys wanting to paint the headlight housing. There are 3 or 4 of us who want to do it. Is there anyone that has done it before and is comfortable walking us through it in person? I can offer up my oven if needed, or if someone has a bigger place/two ovens that works too.

Just curious if there is any interest/someone with experience around.

I've done this before, I actually painted, i wanna say 5 sets of headlights, we did this sort of party at my house. I'd be interested in helping, AND I'd actually strongly consider redoing mine.

I'd tell you this, do your homework first, theres plenty of information in DIY section.. research "how to" before you jump right in. These headlights are fvcking expensive, and you wanna get it right the first time, with the end result of looking badass, and no condensation that if done incorrectly could happen.

Absolutely man. I've watched the videos, read all the DIY's and I would bring my computer with me to keep them at the ready for any help. If you'd be interested in setting something up at your house again I'd gladly supply some beer and order pizzas or something.

I REALLY like the look of the matte black housings.

:)

ahhh dude, after we did the party at my place, we concluded, my oven BARELY fit one at a time.. you'd definitely want a bigger oven, and I dont live in the best area brother.. I live close to college park.

I'd tell you this as well, I would definitely wait until it gets hotter, you're gonna need at least 2 good coats of paint, and each coat will have to dry before you can shoot the next coat.

My head lights, are black with red shrouds, if I were to reopen them, I'd sand the red off and shoot the entire inner pieces black..

I've done it a couple of times. One with the Z, the rest with other cars. It's pretty easy to be honest. Just time consuming, and you need to be patient or you will break something. As for the Z I found it easier to start from the Front, inner corner, and worked my way up. If it makes any sense..Lol

If you want a set of a fully blacked out housing PM me, IL be getting rid of mine soon.

Mine are done as well. We actually hosted a party at EW's house last year for this exact thing.

Would you say you would know what you're doing now that you guys have all done it before? I really want someone to walk us through everything when we do it :)

If someone that knows what they are doing is willing to help,I'm willing to swing by the ABC store and buy a bottle for them if they help! Also willing to chip in for food!
