it was literally a trap - i was being very unagressive - and as a matter of fact was stuck for many miles at 10 below the limit...

there is one section where the road opens up from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and begins a long downhill section - and changes right in the middle of that downslope from 55 to 45. (for no apparent reason other that to generate revenue)

anyway - when the road opened up, i went to an open lane to get out from behind the minivan that was blocking me for at least the previous mile at 5 under the limit, moved up parallel - then saw the cop turn on his lights...

the move up parallel part took less than a second, and i was no longer accelerating - but the cop caught it at 67 - and said i was in the 45 part of that stretch (which frankly is difficult to tell where the line is)

anyhow - i was over - and i got nailed...

That sounds exactly like the section of highway leaving Fontana and headed toward Ashville. You have come over the mountain and when you do its one speed and then as you crest and begin to head down it changes to a slower speed although the inclination is to increase speed. Lance (Chicane 370Z) got nailed there the first year (warning). Then Rick (black 370Z) got a ticket the next year coming back. Clearly a trap. That sucks!

Thats some bullsh1t...

Sounds similar to how I got my speeding ticket going to Summit Point. You go into this town coming off the highway and the speed limit goes from 60 to 45. Was doing 60 going downhill and the cop saw me while he was stopped at a light going the opposite way. He pulled a u turn, turned on his lights, and came after me. I was like 10 mins from the track too.

Yeah, the police know those places and they are kind of like easy pickings for those who may not be aware.

Slow it down fellas... trollolololllololl

Its usually the guys who are not paying attention to the speed limit that get nailed. By the time I leave Fontana and make that last run to the highway its out of my system and then its just enjoying the ride home.

Hey guys, we all made it down to Fontna safe. Wish you all could be here.

Yes.

I believe the formula is something like...

If cost to repair plus remaining value of in tact parts is greater than book, they cut you a check for book.

Any route issues? I'm heading down tomorrow afternoon. I'll watch my speed, but I was wondering about construction dleays, etc... How long did the trip take? How many cars were in the caravan?
