Try the google search instead. Go to advanced search. Unless that is only a premium add on. eh?

Did you have to drive the car at highway speeds (60+ mph) for 10 minutes or so after doing a couple consecutive launches, or am I making that up?

if you hit limp mode I think there was a specific mileage or time frame you had to drive to reset it. I cant remember exactly how long it was of the top of my head either.

the it was changed to where you could only do 2-3 launch's in a certain time period then it would limp mode.

the next update droped the whole voiding warranty thing because the tamed the software a bit and refined the LC.

although from what I've been told the software for LC on the 2013 is one of the best they had.

'12 and up no longer voids the warranty in sport mode launches.

Hey I was as surprised as you were. Guy is a sales guy for my company and I was bitching the other day about paying $1600 for a new clutch and he said "Jesus Mark, just buy the freaking GTR already". I listed that warranty issue as one of the reasons why not to and he filled me in.

Good to know I guess. Consumer backlash actually did something constructive for a change.

This fall likely. I'm done waiting for the 36. The '16 looks really sharp.

Edited for accuracy. I won't be modding the 35 past an exhaust/intake and maybe a tune. I am fed up with this ****.
Lessons learned from owning a tuner car:
-Do **** yourself
or
-Don't own a tuner car

Even if you do it all yourself, you're going to run up against situations you can't fix with a jack and a wrench and then it'll sit in some speed shop's garage for 2 months because they don't make money (proportionally) off your special snowflake car either. Speed shops make money off of exhaust installs, tunes etc. They don't make money banging around inside your engine bay for 10 hours charging you labor only while they try to figure out why on earth they can't get your new injectors to play nice with your fuel pump and "oh hey lol no one has ever done this before" so better get on the phone with a few other shops so we can all try to figure out how to get this thing to run without buckling the hood.

If I sound bitter it's because I am.

[MAZOC] Official "Off-Topic" Discussion Thread

For the record, this is how the E85 conversion went:
-March of 2014 "Hey this would be neat"

-Drop car off in June a little ahead of schedule because un-traceable oil leak made me nervous

-Nothing

-More nothing

-Car gets on dyno early August and goes berserk. Fuel pressure spikes well into the danger zone. Car overheats, knock sensor trips. Idle fuel pressure 2x+ what it should have been. Fuel pressure bottoms out under load.

-Meeting of the minds between Concept Z, Hills and either Zspeed or that other place down south (I forget the name).

-Determined that stock fuel system crapped itself and just couldn't handle 1000cc injectors and the bigger AEM fuel pump.

-Regulator overloaded and rails just can't keep up. Entire OEM fuel system ripped out of the car.

-Full stage 2 fuel return system purchased. Concept Z asks me for pictures of the install because they (I s you not) did not have any install photos yet. At that time, I was literally the only idiot to attempt this that they had run across.

-Fuel return system works. Car decides to play nice

-Morning the car is supposed to go on the dyno for re-tune, massive oil leak resurfaces

-Oil pan pulled. Turns out the little spring/ball bearing pressure valve thingy in my oil pan is just...gone. Oil has been recirculating through the motor without even touching the filter (lol!). Missing pieces of spring valve thing are nowhere to be found. This is...cause for concern. Hill's managed to drop the oil pan without pulling the entire engine (for which I am eternally grateful).

-ALL OIL LINES ripped out of the car back to the filter to find out where the missing ball bearing and spring went. Only way to be sure, right?

-Pieces nowhere to be found! Hooray for wasting money. Best guess is that it fell apart when the supercharger was installed and no one said anything? I'm done trying to blame shops for this stuff. Clearly someone is at fault here but ultimately, it's me because I keep ******* with the car.

-The best part? Hey I got to buy a new oil pan too because the little thing that holds that pressure release valve isn't sold stand-alone by Nissan! Frank tried hard to remove the little valve thingy with pliers without damaging it and gouged the hell out of his hand in the process. New oil pan ahoy andhauHAFUhuasdhaughaugh

-I literally flipped **** and yelled at two very nice people who have taken very good care of my car (I felt terrible afterwards). Frank and Suzanne literally run one of (if not the) best Z tuner shops on the east coast.

-Got car back right before Christmas.
....

Now the clutch is eating itself. I had initially pegged the clutch replacement (with labor) to be under $1000

...

Ahahaha. Looking more like $2500 with the SB stage 3 daily kit I need plus labor. Oh and because Nissan is retarded, you have to replace the CMC when you replace the clutch. 90% fail when depressurized because....reasons!

Cristobal09 02-11-2015 07:13 AM

^^^I got rid of my Evo for the same concept. I went full bolt ons and a tune (granted, its nothing even remotely close to all you had done, nor was it in the shop near as long as your car was) and it ran like crap and was coming back to the shop every other month. CEL's, leaning out while idle, surging, pretty much all driveability went to ****. I returned it to stock and traded it in for a new Challenger scat pack which im keeping 100 percent stock, I was fed up with modding.

Now it sits here where it has been for the past two months.... Used 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution TC-SST MR in Manassas VA | Used Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution near Chantilly & Centreville | Stock: M50713A
