Got an Epson Home Cinema Projector for the family with a 120 inch fixed screen. Omg the picture is amazing. I saw that play when Dez let the ground knock the ball loose. All I wanna do is watch sports 24-7 now.

GT-R :yum:

Can't go wrong with either one

m4a1mustang 02-09-2015 12:09 AM

Agreed. I prefer the Corvette.

Especially since that vette is like $45K less (as tested) than the GTR. However both of them are highly complex machines that will have significant cost of ownership to keep them in reasonable condition. The GTR though is a total tech wonder that I think will cost far more than the vette in care and maintenance. Of course, that is total speculation.

Buy one, own it for a year, :driving: the sh!t out of it, and sell it. OK maybe two years since you have to get the driving value out of the first year depreciation.

m4a1mustang 02-09-2015 08:54 AM

I think you're right about the GTR. Cost to own would definitely be higher if something were to go wrong. Have you seen the replacement cost for a transmission on one of those things?

b1adesofcha0s 02-09-2015 10:21 AM

I would be much more afraid to mod the GT-R as well, especially after seeing the nightmare stories about people blowing their transmissions and not having them covered by warranty. I know that was an issue for the older models, but not sure if it is for the later ones. I'd still take the Z06 for the price and dat V8 :yum:

There is the story over on 350Z about the guy with the 2009 that had to pay out $20K at the dealer. They blamed it on the prodigious use of launch control. Apparently the transmission doesn't like that.

Apparently the issue has been fixed after software updates, but I'm told the original gtr's manual had fine print that said launching the gtr with vdc off voided the warranty.

Our resident GTR guru, FP, will probably correct me if I'm wrong :p

the09 with LC1 I believe the clause was 3 times was when it was voided.

the it was changed to where you could only do 2-3 launch's in a certain time period then it would limp mode.

the next update droped the whole voiding warranty thing because the tamed the software a bit and refined the LC.

although from what I've been told the software for LC on the 2013 is one of the best they had.

if we were in person, I'm sure that explanation would have only taken you one breath :rofl2: (think Ace Ventura).

Did you have to drive the car at highway speeds (60+ mph) for 10 minutes or so after doing a couple consecutive launches, or am I making that up?
