Alrighty guys I need to see if you all know something I don't.

I keep getting a coolant leak. Its coming from behind the engine off of one of the hardlines. I am using high temps rubber caps with hose clamps to keep the caps secured...the issue is they keep cracking on me and creating a leak. Do you guys have any hardware you could recommend? Anything higher temp or a tougher material?

Also pretty sure its the cold weather freezing the rubber and making it super hard and cracking even faster. Didn't have any issues in summer.

o_O Um. This can't be normal even in cold temps can it? I had a coolant leak but it was because I was using the nismo radiator cap on the radiator itself and not the overflow tank (apparently, that's an issue). Do you have silicone hoses? That might help.

You can't trace the leak?

No I know exactly where it is coming from. It is where the throttle body coolant line comes out of the coolant hardline behind the motor. Atleast if I recall that was for the TB line. Anyways this will be my 2nd cap for that outlet. Already replaced another cap on the driver side of the motor for the same issue(cracked). That one has been fine ever since. I basically just need something to block off the coolant outlet on the hardline.

This is exactly what I did :/

I'd try better lines Cody, and I 'd track the entire system, from the radiator back

dmhenderson 12-18-2013 01:09 PM

I dunno man. Haven't heard this complaint before.

Gotcha. If you want to practice real launches quickly feather the clutch as you roll onto the throttle.

Wouldn't this cause the clutch to slip and burn? You kinda need full engagement once you jam the throttle don't you?

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 01:12 PM

Hey cody, cant you buy thermal wrap? If you can, wrap all your lines in that..

Hey no one ever answered this. Also do any of the (good) performance tires offered for the Z have white lettering on the sidewalls like the old bridgestone radials from back in the day? That would be a cool look.
