You should call nissan and tell them their website is wrong.

I DD'd my Z with Carbotech XP8's on it for over a year without any issues. The brake dust would probably bother you a lot more than it bothered me though.

I don't want sintering in the rotor caps or calipers let alone the rims so yeah, it would bother me

No, Nissan just jacked the prices up. base model still exists. Sport is an option that can be applied to Base or Touring.

Middle of this year Nissan cut prices so base is back to 29.x.

Generally the more aggressive the pad, the more it will dust. Your best option would be to get a separate set of track pads for track days and run something like the DS2500 the rest of the time.

m4a1mustang 12-01-2013 11:46 PM

Ds2500 still dust a lot though.

I miss having my XP8's. So much more braking power than the stock pads, especially with the PSS tires.

Once my stock Ferodo's wear out, probably gonna go DS2500 or CarboTech AX6 on the 5-0

m4a1mustang 12-02-2013 12:09 PM

I ran the DS2500s on my 5.0. Fantastic.

m4a1mustang 12-02-2013 12:10 PM

I also had them on the S2K for a short time. :p

I'll sacrifice clean wheels in favor of stopping power any day :tiphat:

In all honesty it's not that bad, you just have to keep up with it.

This thread still makes me lol sometimes.

Im trying man. The Z isn't inspected right now so its just being a garage camper at the moment. ABS sensor is still acting a fool. Gone through pretty much all diagnostic crap I can think of short of hooking the sensors up to Consult 3...which is a $500 purchase.

Anyways once that is fixed ill be getting my tune sorted out and ill be down. :/

Been using a very diluted simple green mix lately. The brake dust just falls off. Not even mad at my pads anymore.

I Agree!

I use Posi-Quiet as my DD pads and HAWK DTC for my track pads. I like both sets for their purposes.

I use the Adam's Quick Sealant every few months on mine. With the Adam's Green Wheel cleaner, just foam them up and a light scrub takes all the dust off.
