dmhenderson 02-05-2014 10:35 AM

Just spoke to him. Still gets awesome prices.

Cristobal09 02-05-2014 10:42 AM

Yeah Jomer consistently has lower prices than other vendors, even if its only by a few bucks. Havent bought my mods for either of my cars from anybody else.

I've used him and R/T Tuning because they got me a crazy deal on my diff for helping them advertise during the holidays.

Also he doesn't get a deal on proprietary or "weird" parts (Z1 stuff, wacky brake ducts etc)

dmhenderson 02-05-2014 10:47 AM

Browsing tire rack as we speak...

Cristobal09 02-05-2014 10:54 AM

Yeah z1 stuff and certain vendors here who make their own stuff he cant get a hold of. But major brands (H&R, cobb tuning, AEM, stillen) he can. He also got me stellar deals on my AEM wideband and boost gauge, like 30 bucks cheaper than anybody else.

If you find a cheaper price, he will 99 percent of the time beat it.

he gets me really great deals because ive sent him enough business on the Focus ST group im a part of.

dmhenderson 02-05-2014 11:05 AM

Why is tire rack being bitchy?

It keeps telling me I can't buy:
Tire Size Front: 275/40-19 Tire Size Rear: 305/35-19

...and that they have nothing that matches that description.
The nismo wheels are 19 x 9.5 (40) and 19 x 10.5 (35)

Hmm I may need to lower the aspect ratio since I'm moving up quite a bit but I'm not sure by how much.

Edit: Looks like 30/30 aspect ratio works and fits.

Anyone know anything about the Yokohama Neova AD08Rs? Pricey as hell but I've never heard of them.

I used Advan Neova AD08 tires on my RX8. The "R" version was not out then. The AD08 tires were NOISY after about 5k. My wife would not ride in the car it was so bad. They worked pretty well at the track, but not as good as the Pilot Super Sports.

Same experience. Jomer has been awesome with the deals.

eastwest2300 02-05-2014 01:51 PM

maybe he can get me a deal on 4 rear oem sized 19" tires...

dmhenderson 02-05-2014 10:12 PM

I kinda want to run the AD08Rs just to have something different but it's a $200 difference.

Ah that explains it, your fb feed was strange in December if you didn't know that.

Let us know what your think of the AD08Rs once you get a chance to put them through your paces.

I don't remember what model of Project Mu pads I used for the track (I threw them away after my first track event). They built up so much material on the rotor that it behaved, under heavy braking, as if I had warped the hell out of the rotors! I had to adjust braking points and found myself going a lot slower on the straights. Sorry I don't remember the specific model though. This was also four years ago and they might have changed their material. Your brake ducts may help keep them from building up material on the rotors anyway.

hey whats up Z?

Z Stig 02-07-2014 09:38 AM

Good. I've been driving the Z most days. Looks like a white car some days!

I hoping to drive my Z this weekend.. we'll see though, with the weather being iffy...

H2O_Doc 02-12-2014 01:27 PM

Just wanted to say hello to all my MAZOCian friends. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss the impending snow-doom. I have to be in L.A.; it's kind of warm and sunny today and I don't have my sun screen (those of you who know me know I'm one of the whitest white guys on the planet - despite my trunk of funk).

You should feel for me.

Buy a hat and kiss my @$$! ;)

Seriously though, good for you for missing this snow. I hope you were not planning on flying back before Monday... Air travel is going to be a bitch! My Dad lives in South Carolina and they never get snow over one inch. He just sent me a picture and it is at least four inches and still coming down. Should make it interesting for any travel to/from the East coast. Good luck and safe travels whenever you are coming back!

eastwest2300 02-12-2014 02:32 PM

snow is a coming :icon08:

drive to arrive safely..

I could get out of the garage in the morning, but I think I'll drive the AWD tomorrow. Might get the Z out this weekend before the next snow.

H2O_Doc 02-13-2014 06:17 PM

I want to see the snow Zs. Post them up so I can live vicariously through all of you while I bask in 80°F weather.

MightyBobo 02-13-2014 10:35 PM

I ran into some idiot with a slammed S2000 driving on 97 earlier. Wasn't going more than 5 mph.

Sent from my Nexus 5

I'll take a pic of mine in the morning. I shoveled out my parents 2 cars and my sisters car today, but left the Z as it was. I can probably leave it there and let the snow melt when it gets warmer next week.

Cristobal09 02-14-2014 08:06 AM

Yeah, its gonna be awhile before she goes anywhere....

This is after a good bit of it melted. My sisters cleared the snow on top of it before realizing that I was not going to take it anywhere soon.

H2O_Doc 02-14-2014 10:20 AM

Ouch!

FPenvy 02-14-2014 10:28 AM

eastwest2300 02-14-2014 11:44 AM

my Z is comfortable in the heated garage and i'll be in the escalade going skiing in this wonderful weather

MightyBobo 02-14-2014 12:18 PM

Clean/clear around your cars now, while you can. Because today, it'll melt a bit. Tonight, it'll freeze and turn into a rock.

b1adesofcha0s 02-14-2014 12:18 PM

Took my parents' Prius in to work today and it has been doing awesome in the snow. I was surprised how well it did and actually took the snowy route to chipotle for lunch.

I didn't find a single road that was "bad" this morning lol

Cristobal09 02-14-2014 12:29 PM

Then theres next week, mid 50's and low 60's....This will be all be gone relatively soon.

I was driving through the neighborhoods in Columbia and those were the only bad roads I had seen.

They plowed my alley yesterday very well, then overnight they blocked it in by plowing the main road and did not touch up the intersection. It was like a very cold rock pile with some glue thrown in! A neighbor and I were out there with garden shovels and a pick ax to clear enough of a space to drive the AWD out. Z stayed put in the garage.

I agree with Rob, make sure you clear around your cars and fire hydrants so it doesn't form an ice block overnight. More snow is on the way also...
