Thanks buddy.

MyKindaGuise 12-18-2013 12:24 PM

Alrighty guys I need to see if you all know something I don't.

I keep getting a coolant leak. Its coming from behind the engine off of one of the hardlines. I am using high temps rubber caps with hose clamps to keep the caps secured...the issue is they keep cracking on me and creating a leak. Do you guys have any hardware you could recommend? Anything higher temp or a tougher material?

Also pretty sure its the cold weather freezing the rubber and making it super hard and cracking even faster. Didn't have any issues in summer.

o_O Um. This can't be normal even in cold temps can it? I had a coolant leak but it was because I was using the nismo radiator cap on the radiator itself and not the overflow tank (apparently, that's an issue). Do you have silicone hoses? That might help.

You can't trace the leak?

No I know exactly where it is coming from. It is where the throttle body coolant line comes out of the coolant hardline behind the motor. Atleast if I recall that was for the TB line. Anyways this will be my 2nd cap for that outlet. Already replaced another cap on the driver side of the motor for the same issue(cracked). That one has been fine ever since. I basically just need something to block off the coolant outlet on the hardline.

MyKindaGuise 12-18-2013 12:58 PM

This is exactly what I did :/

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 01:08 PM

I'd try better lines Cody, and I 'd track the entire system, from the radiator back

dmhenderson 12-18-2013 01:09 PM

I dunno man. Haven't heard this complaint before.

Wouldn't this cause the clutch to slip and burn? You kinda need full engagement once you jam the throttle don't you?

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 01:12 PM

Hey cody, cant you buy thermal wrap? If you can, wrap all your lines in that..

Hey no one ever answered this. Also do any of the (good) performance tires offered for the Z have white lettering on the sidewalls like the old bridgestone radials from back in the day? That would be a cool look.

MyKindaGuise 12-18-2013 01:31 PM

Its not lines or hoses.lol Its the outlet from a hardline that is being capped off.

And Mark I bought white tire paint to do what you are thinking about.

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 01:32 PM

any you boys do somewhat decent on the last nights mega millions? My 5 quick picks was complete sh1t.

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 01:33 PM

IDK. I think it has to do with going from extreme cold to extreme heat within a few minutes that is cracking them. Like I said this didn't happen in summer. Also the other decent news is I made a good contact the other day...Master tech at the dealership is going to consult 3 my car for free to help me with my crazy ABS/WSS issue. Hopefully we can narrow down the sensor tonight.

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 02:43 PM

Hey cody, I did those rear brake lines last weekend, first time ever.. I had a good time doing it, I got the motul 600 running too..

MyKindaGuise 12-18-2013 09:32 PM

So my abs wss issue is a tad more clear now. Consult 3 couldn't even detect the abs ECU. They are looking into it and I may be making a warranty claim...abs power unit/actuator is $1500

eastwest2300 12-18-2013 10:03 PM

warranty.... ahaha, man when the dealership sees what you did to your Z, they're gonna laugh...:p

I actually had an ABS issue that the dealership caught when they did my alignment that they had to straighten out. Fixed now but apparently the supercharger confused it somehow (not even sure how that makes sense).

In other news, I'm in love:

Is this the 2017 GT-R? : GTR Forum / Skyline Forum

Yeah, I know it's a render but goddamn.

Lol who do you think I had using Consult 3 on my car tonight. I haven't touched anything with the ABS system and they know that. I was also having intermittent issues before boost which they have documented

dmhenderson 12-19-2013 06:54 AM

Don't know the exact details but they said when the car would hit 60mph there was some problem and that they fixed it. Might have just been their excuse to take the car out on 270.

ahhhhh.

Dude, ultimately I hope you get this bug fixed. If all else fails, bring that sh1t down to my house, we'll rip everything out, and start from scratch.:p

Mr. VTAK!!!!!!!!!:hello::hello::hello:

jlw2546 12-19-2013 08:14 AM

I installed my hfc's, intake and CBE on Monday and Tuesday. Holy crap is my car loud now. I take it Nissan uses no sound deadening material on the bottom of the car. It sounds amazing though. It is definitely louder inside the car than I was expecting. It's not my DD so I'm not worried about it. Hopefully I will see some of you at the next meet.

No sound deadening from Nissan. I'm fairly certain I'm doing permanent damage to my hearing by driving that car around.

eastwest2300 12-19-2013 10:15 AM

Steve knows his sound proofing, I'd get with him, its a lot more complicated than just laying GTmat or dynamat.

How are you liking the PS4? I almost bought one last night off amazon.

dmhenderson 12-21-2013 04:08 PM

I haven't played a video game in a long time but I recently sold all my old xbox games on 99gamers so I picked up fallout new vegas and skyrim so I'd have something to do during the 2 and 1/2 weeks I'm off.

Don't do the early adoption thing with consoles. They still have HW bugs to work out and if you try to buy one off of amazon right now, you'll get price gouged by greedy opportunistic ******** who are trying to get parents to overpay for their kids' presents.

Just wait if you want one. Come summer there will be a "new" PS4 bundle that has some new feature like backward compatibility or it'll be packaged with a Vita or something like it is in Europe.

Edit: Haha check this out - http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-4/...s_videogames_1
"Available December 27th" - since they'll be charging an inflated price for delivery prior to christmas.
