I think Chantilly can work. Somewhere in the Willards BBQ area. Tons of car shops there, too.

My buddy owns used tire place there, Im sure we can work something out for VA meets soon

I have no problem driving the distance from Baltimore to Chantilly area. I may not make every meet there due to my rotating work schedule, but I always like visiting the Air Space Museum (Udvar-Hazy) located there. I'd make a day out it, go to meet in morning then checkout museum& its IMAX Theater.

Not sure if this Saturday is Columbia. With the holidays and everything I lost track.

I don't think no one knows... wait, there is the MAZOC website. ;)

The schedule kind of went out the window after the VA location was shut down. At this point we just have a meet whenever a couple people decide that they are free and want to meet up.

Yeah **** won't get organized again until we get closer to spring and ZDayZ.

So could you guys let me know roughly how many people show to the weekly meets?

I'm contacting a few local places in VA to get a new venue established. Also, does it have to be retail lot? Or perhaps a nice nature setting, it can alternate between a plaza in MD and nature park in VA?

Meets depend. We can have anywhere from 0-15 people.

Needs to be somewhere with easy walking access to Starbucks (or similar), so more than likely it would be in a retail lot.

I appreciate you scoping out some places. I kinda dropped the ball this summer after I got slammed with work.

If it helps in getting places to cooperate, the club has a rule banning burnouts, revving, aggressive driving, and other loud noises at meets. We just stand around like a bunch of nerds and giggle about cars and other subjects.

D.Stillwell 12-30-2015 09:14 AM

^^ Sounds good, thanks for the info dude.

I'm trying to look into places with starbucks, and maybe at least few other decent places in the same plaza and/or nearby.

I'm looking in the area around Herndon/Reston border so it would be close to Fairfax and Chantilly if anyone wanted car shops or the air museum.

And yes any place that I contact is told about those club rules, that there is strictly no noise or speeding/burnouts and that we would even inform local law enforcement of our meet.

We'll see what happens, I'll keep you guys posted and I'd love to finally hang out with some Z's.

Got my first response today regarding a new VA location:

"Mr. Stillwell,

I understand your reached out to Jack deVilliers about hosting a car club at Village Center at Dulles. I am the property manager for this shopping center and unfortunately we will not be able to allow this as parking is already very tight at this center.

I hope you guys are able to find another good space for your event.

Best,

Anna Evans
Property Manager"

Too bad, this was the clock tower plaza on Centerville rd in Herndon.

The search continues. Also, you guys know about the chic fil a weekly meet? Maybe we can just use the same plaza on the weekend?

m4a1mustang 12-30-2015 01:11 PM

It's tough to get approval anymore. As far as the Chic-Fil-A location... I don't think that'd be a good one to meet, and it's a bit far from the other parts of NOVA.

There is a Starbucks in a shopping center near 50/28 that I was looking at, but haven't contacted anyone about yet.

D.Stillwell 12-30-2015 01:25 PM

The search continues...how do you guys feel about dunkin donuts vs starbucks?

m4a1mustang 12-30-2015 01:29 PM

I don't think anyone can argue against donuts.
