So I wander into the chili cookoff and there's a FR-S with pretty nice looking powdered red/black wheels sitting at the entrance with the hood up.

I go take a look and there's a guy standing there who I assumed was the salesman. I say "hey this looks bone stock other than the wheels, what are you showcasing". Guy says, "Just the car, It's a great car". No mods other than the wheels. It's a top-notch sportscar.

I said, "Well I mean, it's a nice car but it's not really a sportscar. I mean, I'd put it in the same category as the old CR-X or a miata but it's not really a performance car" and the guy just walked away without a word.

It was the owner, not a sales guy. Now I feel bad.

Also other bad news, there are moulding marks on the RC NACA ducts that I can't get rid of so I'm going to have to paint them which kinda sucks.
Race car parts are apparently not meant to be pretty. It's going to cost me an additional (laffo) $300+ to get the ducts cleaned up not including the install.

Asked the guy who sold them to me to take pity on me.

Anyway, I'll have the car back this Wednesday. Game on I guess.

He said "sports car", not "performance car". And he is certainly correct, it fits most everyone's definition of a proper sports car: light weight, rear wheel drive, and able to procure with a manual transmission. The Miata is practically the gold standard in minimalist sports cars.

So by all rights, if you said the FR-S wasn't a "sports car", then I'd have walked away, too.

:iagree: it's most definitely a sports car.

So I picked the Smurf up at the shop this morning around 9:30...as I'm about to leave the guy tells me someone was interested in buying my car. The guy is from Dubai....does apps and CAD (whatever the hell that is) so now I'm considering selling her.

Once in a lifetime someone would want to buy a Z with air ride.....may not have to pass this opportunity up.

Good luck! Could be a great opportunity.

No offense to anyone from Dubai, BUT you could sell it, and clear any debt that you may owe on the smurf, the guy that wants to buy it likely has deep pockets.. I'd sell it.

My uncle in Nigeria may also be interested, although he's having difficulty getting his money out of the country.

Time for a... MAZOC Presidential Directive!

In an effort to get the weekly meet thread back on topic, I've started an official MAZOC Off-Topic thread here: http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-...ml#post2301138

I ask that we all move our off topic banter to that thread and keep this meet thread to discussions about weekly meets (or special events) only. This will make it easier for us to find meetup details, discuss who is coming to a meet, etc. It will also make it a little friendlier to the newbies just wanting to check out their first meet... you all know that we can be a tough group to just be dropped right into given how over the top we can get.

I also ask that we keep all other standalone MAZOC meetup threads on topic too. This will make it easier for the organizers to manage the event planning and makes it easier for us to figure out exactly what is going on. We have a tendency to derail threads very quickly.

I am not pointing fingers at anyone, and I will not deny that I am right there with many of you guys in derailing meet threads... often times my own! I just think that going forward it will be better for the group if we try our best to keep on-topic threads as on-topic as possible.

This doesn't mean we can't joke around a bit, but we just can't let ourselves derail a thread or whip out the 's, :gtfo2:'s, :superghey:'s, etc.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!

Again, the new OT thread is right here: http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-...ml#post2301138
