wow :icon14:

Yes I feel perfectly capable of accomplishing this task on my own. I'd personally prefer to have an additional set of hands to help remove and replace the bumper to help prevent any possible damage to the bumper or the clips that hold the bumper on. I'm pretty sure that the bumper and the clips were not designed to be removed and replaced on a frequent basis, if even really ever, so I'd rather take care of my hardware accordingly. I'd like to keep the car for a long time and being meticulous with how I care for it will help in the long run.

I've done it twice on my own now and it's not a huge pain, just time consuming.

They seem fairly robust to me, to be honest. Just be careful if you do it in cold weather.

DORIFATO!!!!

Speaking of adding lightness...anyone else keeping an eye on the Factory Five 818? I love the concept...and I love how you can go full-race with it, OR street...and it's light as fck.

Neat, but a little ugly.

dmhenderson 04-04-2013 08:45 AM

Weird. It's like a DIY cobra kit only for subarus.

From my experience, it's not hard to do by yourself but still faster with 2 people who know what they're doing. You're not gonna save a huge amount of time with 2 people vs 1, but still a bit faster.

All about technique, really.

I've heard from several that you have some of the best techniques in town and the fact that you don't scrape or need clean-up towels just proves how special you are big guy.

:rofl2:

I took mine off and hung it between my legs when I installed the oil cooler

It's all in the proper stance. And having a good grip.

those bumper clips love to break, they're dirt cheap too so I always have bag fulls of replacement, for my subie at least :)

No joke, subie clips snap too easy.

I started wearing eye protection when removing the clips.. when I try to pop the inner piece out, it always breaks and becomes a rather dangerous projectile lol

D bought a bag of extras back when we did the headlight thing but I don't think we broke any at all. We may have lost a few :3
