Got pretty good news today. My insurance payout on the Z is higher than anticipated, by about 5k. :woot:

Should be able to pay off the Subie pretty easily.

Nice! Is that for the car itself or with mods?

Car with mods. I included the wheels, oil cooler, the leather seats, the intakes, and the brake kit. Although it was a raffle, Z1 was able to provide me an exact invoice for the kit. While it was a prize, it had a cash value.

Assuming they subtract out the price of a mod if you remove it otherwise, you could clean up ;)

lol, well not really. The brakes and wheels would be very hard to sell. 3 wheels, 3 rotors, 3 calipers... Know anyone with a trike?

The oil cooler MAY be functional, or maybe not, and I don't know about the lines or the way it mounts. Didn't look good.

I meant things like the head unit, intake, exhaust

Bummer. Definitely take a souvenir. I kept one of the shattered side blinker emblems when the deer hit me.

Dude, getting the stock shift knob off the vehicle was a B*tch

I had to use a strap wrench, and it crushed the stock knob. I didn't even want to replace it. I was just trying to replace the stock black leather with my own wine leather. But when that happened, I decided to go aftermarket.

I tore both of mine in half (like through the aluminum thread). Used a pipe wrench to grib the knob. Wrapped the shifter in a towel and had a buddy hold it steady with another pipe wrench to keep from torquing the gearbox.

Edit: Actually come to think of it, we managed to get it off the 2nd Z without tearing it in half but we still ripped the leather up pretty badly.
