If you guys are late, I'm going to be so mad.

m4a1mustang 05-30-2012 08:05 AM

ALSO. If anyone is open to coming a little early (5 something?) we could hang out and try to do some photoshoots. There are some decent places to shoot there if the lighting is good.

Talked to Cwiz and I think he was open to coming early, but I suppose its contingent upon how quickly shahid and rob finish up, and then finish the brakes. :|

If it looks like we are going to be late, maybe I can leave my car at Rob's place overnight and finish up on Sunday morning. That's assuming it's ok with Rob though. I don't think it should take long enough for us to be late. It's not we're swapping out the whole brake kit like with Al's car and hopefully we won't run into any issues like he did during the install.

Just remember, if you are late to Gordon Biersch you will be early to your Death.

I'll get you in the bathroom, too, when you're least expecting it. Well, maybe you'll be expecting something, but I won't be delivering what it is you were hoping for. :stirthepot:

I'm going to call GB today to see if I can reserve something. Otherwise I'll just have to call Saturday to get us on the list for ~7PM.

No guns in MD = you're completely useless :bowrofl:

Where is that place you wanted to take pics? If we're done early, then I'm down for a photoshoot.

The bathroom.

Now that I think about it it's going to be too busy to set anything up there and security is bitches. I will bring my camera anyways to get shots, but nothing too staged. I will be there around 6.

Masa 05-30-2012 08:58 AM

I can show up pretty early, I'm only a short ~10 min drive away on Rt. 50.

Brake swap actually doesnt take long at ALL. Your job will take us longer than a brake swap would, due to paint needing to dry.

And yeah, thats fine, you could leave it.

Furthermore, dont forget: Key Bridge costs $3 EACH CROSSING, unless you have the EZPass w/ the Baltimore commuter package...

Well I know that it took Al and Kirk like all day long to get it done.....

Ffffffuuuuuuuuu tolls. I have an EZPass, but no Baltimore commuter package :(

I think they ran into some select issues.

But it only took me maybe an hour or so to swap all 4 of my calipers. It took another hour or so to do all the bleeding I believe, but other than that...not long to do a full caliper swap and line bleed...

It took us long because we screwed up the brake fluid replacement, partially because of the new calipers.

But it was the fluid exchange (:yum:) that we muffed up and took us so long.

We thought the job was done and all the air was out of the system, so the wheels went back on, the car came down off the jacks, time to test the br--- no pressure.

Spent maybe an hour taking a break and figuring out our problem.

Back up on jacks, wheels off, fix problem, put car back together, bed in new pads, check out kirkster's gun collection, then made my way to GB

b1adesofcha0s 05-30-2012 10:03 AM

I guess that would explain it. How long do you think it will take to do everything?

Fluid, maybe an hour, pads add a half hour or so onto that because both are being done at the same time, paint??? Dunno

I'm sure you guys know this, but I'll just put it out there anyway. Don't get the brake fluid on any of your car's paint.

I was originally busy on Saturday, but my night freed up, has the reservation already been made/is there still enough room to join you guys?

m4a1mustang 05-30-2012 10:50 AM

Still room! Just you or are you bringing someone else?

If you decide to join us, you should go and get that aluminum sheet for your oil cooler, and we can make your block-off plate while we're sitting around drinking beer and waiting for his calipers to dry.

I'll go halfsies with you on price Shado for the panel if you can get one large enough for both our OC's. Also, I wouldn't mind picking up something to paint it black so that it won't be visible. And some velcro.

One panel is more than enough for 2 oil coolers.

I already have the black paint. Get the velcro.

Cool, then we can tune it. Cause that's necessary after an OC blocking plate mod.
