Thanks, Mac.

I have a traditional carry handle on the way, so I will use that for a while. Later I will look at the Aimpoint/Eotech and Trijicon's of the world to see what kind of optic I want, along with the MBUS rear backup sight.

Be aware that removing/reinstalling the carry handle with any sight on it will change your point-of-impact. Even the best of mounts will shift as much as +/- 2 MOA when you do that. You should be able to mount a red-dot sight on top of the carry handle, but that makes for a pretty huge height-over-bore which can make for complicated hold-overs at distances of 25 yards or less.

I'll keep that in mind.

I just wanted to keep things basic to start with, then I'll ditch the handle and go for the RDS and BUS.

Yeah ditch the "carry handle" LOL.

Just get a flip/fold iron sight for the rear.

You have a nice flat-top receiver, I would keep it that way, and just mount a red-dot.

Well the CH is already on the way.

I am pretty sure I will upgrade to an RDS and the MBUS rear backup sight at some point in the future. I want to get comfortable with the weapon first.

I've never been attracted to carry handles either, but you can get an Airsoft carry handle for $30. It's a relatively cheap way to put an iron sight on a flattop - about 1/2 the price of an MBUS.
