I like those Pmags, they look 1000 times better than regular magazines.

They do look nice, but all I really care about is function. And from what I can tell they are great.

Dude, I may have to pick up a couple of those.

Be cautious and only buy one or two. Some brands of rifle lowers are more likely to be out-of-spec than others and the mag wells can end up too tight to drop pmags reliably. Otherwise, pmags are reliable and durable.

Thanks brother, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

P-Mags work great with my Rock River lower

I just can't decide if 10 of them is enough LOL

My buddy's DPMS mag well is too tight and those lowers are notorious for that, but a little sanding on the top back edge of the Pmags fixes that problem.

Mac, how's the typical resale on BCM stuff? Do they hold value better than some of the lower quality stuff?

A lot of people buy these rifles and parts based on price, not quality, so resale of a high quality rifle will have a more limited market when gun store clerks and forums like Arfcom are giving the impression that those consumer-grade rifles are "just as good" as your BCM, but at lower cost ("with BCM you're just paying extra for the name" ). Bottom line, a BCM rifle will hold its value better but you may have to work harder to sell it because you will need an audience that knows as much about quality AR's as you do, and DPMS, RRA, and Bushmaster make up the largest percentage of AR sales). Place to start with selling higher-quality components would be the Equipment Exchange at M4Carbine.net, for example, since that audience tends to be more tuned in to quality and reliability.

The other thing to keep in mind is that it's often harder to re-sell an assembled-from-parts rifle than it is a factory-made rifle. You could assemble a rifle from all-BCM parts and usually will still have a harder time selling it than the same thing bought as a complete rifle. Sometimes yo can do better selling the components piece-by-piece.

Thanks, Mac. Good to know.

I've got membership pending on M4Carbine.net and also lurk ARFcom; M4C is no-nonsense with tons of valuable information, ARFcom is OK too but there's definitely a lot of nonsense you have to sift through to get to good information.

Needless to say coupled with everything there and all of the help you've offered, I've learned a lot.

I came very close to ordering a PSA completed upper. Everything with them as far as specs goes checks out: cold hammer forged barrels made by FN, MPI/HPT properly staked BCG, M4 feed ramps, and upper/lower receiver shells made by Aero Precision. Pricing is great too at $499 for a M4 style upper with the FN barrel. The issue is these are new and they haven't been put to the test yet. I think they would be GTG but only time will tell.

If I went with a full PSA build there would always be some uncertainty, and after handling the BCM stuff yesterday I knew that was the way to go. Maybe for a future build I'll try some PSA if they prove themselves. Right now, I end up spending a couple hundred dollars more but have the peace of mind knowing I am buying some of the best.

I went to the Gun Show at the Howard County Fairgrounds yesterday and picked up a H&K MP5 .22 A5

http://www.tacticool22.com/images/fi...5-a5-22-lg.jpg

I used to own a GSG-5 and this, by feel, blows it out of the water. This is actually the first and official .22 MP5. Made by H&K in Germany and you can easily tell the difference between this and the GSG-5. Can't wait to try it out.

Also finally getting around to putting my Kimber 1911 back together!
