Might be doing some last minute Z prepping so I don't think I will be able to make it. Got an alignment this past weekend, but it seems like I need a wheel balancing too. If I have some things that might need to be packed in your truck Steve, I will let you know ahead of time.

m4a1mustang 05-01-2015 08:55 AM

I will have the meal schedule finalized today. Sorry for the delay. I've been incredibly busy.

Also, removed Dana from the list. She has had some medical issues pop up again and will have to sit this year out.

Sorry to hear about Dana missing ZDAYZ again. Our thoughts/prayers are with her!

If folks are wondering what additional items they can bring, the following are things that are welcome:

- Cups (red solo types)
- Extra charcoal (we have plenty of lighter fluid)
- Bottled water or any other drinks you want to bring
- Bag ice
- Chips and dip
- Condiments (mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc)
- Any other side dish items (potato salad, cole slaw, pickles, veggies, sliced cheese)
- Extra burger and hotdog buns
- Aluminum foil

If you plan to bring any of those items, post it up here so others will see it and can choose something that isn't already being brought or picked up while there.

Stuff Still onHand from Last Year......

We actually still have a lot of items left over from last year that I'll load into the truck next week.

- Cups (Red Solos) - got plenty
- Eating Utensils - knives, forks, & spoons (Clear Plastic & Sturdy) - got plenty
- Aluminum Banquet Cooking/Serving pans - Stack of 21 ea. - I think that is plenty
- Two ea. large Salt & Pepper grinders (both are almost full)
- Some misc iced tea bags & instant coffee packets.

Sorry I couldn't make the planning get-together yesterday. I've been crazy busy with work and side projects.

Works for me. If people don't want salmon twice in one week I could do some sort of mustard roasted cod (with creme fraiche, shallots, and capers) instead. I'd just need some heads up so I could procure the required ingredients.

Also, to support (and extend the benefit of) the pig roast, I'd be happy to bring some black beans (canned, of course, but they could easily be made into a cuban-style thing, if desired), rice, tortillas, cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc. That would make for some robust meals for all throughout the week, and a pretty hearty option for those of us that prefer not to eat the roast pig (beans and rice are a complete protein, after all!).

Aniceh, I personally am fine with salmon twice but the cod sounds wonderful as well.

As far as black beans go, I have about eight cans of the Goya brand black beans, but if you want to bring extra rice that is fine as well as the other items, (cheese, tortillas, sour cream, salsa). I believe you and I are on the same page as far as Pork tacos and burritos during the week. If you want to pick that up in Bryson City at the market there that will help you from having to worry about toting it down in a cooler. Either way works. Thanks!

GM_Traitor3.5 05-04-2015 09:41 AM

I'm going to make grilled chicken thighs in a couple different flavors, probably some grilled veggies or roasted asparagus and maybe some boxed rice pilaf thing to go along with it.

I think we should also add paper towels, paper plates, trash bags, etc to the list as well. Also aluminum foil.

m4a1mustang 05-04-2015 09:42 AM

I'll probably make a meatloaf in addition to the salmon on Thursday to give people more options.

She came up with a new one that is even better so I'll see if I can replicate it.

I have a box of contractor trash bags, stack of plates too. Will add foil and paper towels.

m4a1mustang 05-05-2015 08:27 PM

Forgot to mention, but if any of you non-NOVA people joining us on the Caravan need a place to stay on Saturday night I have some couch and floor space available. Just let me know.

I have couch and floor space as well. Both Steve and I are about 5 mins from the meetup location at the Starbucks in Fair Lakes.

ZDayZ Class VI Run Tomorrow.......

So, let me know if there are any last minute Class VI requests as I'm making my final Ft. Belvoir Class VI Pre MAZOC 2015 run tomorrow after I leave the office. Since I'm in-capable of "original thought" it will be a magnum of Grey Goose, and a magnum of Maker's Mark. Jay as I told you on Sat, I'm also loading up a 3/4 full magnum of Woodford Reserve that no one in my house apparently likes. If there are any "special requests" let me know and I'll pick it up if it's available......although it might have to ride in back with "the pig".........

Speaking of non-MAZOC people, Chris Grigg is looking to meet up with us on the way there. Some where near the 64 81 interchange. Trying to nail down a specifc location.

That shouldn't be too difficult to manage. But I fear our Caravan may travel too slow for Chris. :icon17:

Yep, got a slow a$$ Dodge Ram pulling a Bass Boat pulling up the rear - can do up to 80, but THAT would be breaking the law so I'll be following the posted speed limit......(or pretty close....):yum:

Can I confirm that someone has an extra radio that I can borrow? If not, I can borrow one from Ron (yes, he's still alive) before Sunday.

Masa 05-07-2015 08:27 PM

Shhhh. Don't let them know.
