just finished Heavy Rain. it was interesting to say the least, i enjoyed it but glad i rented it because i beat it in 3 sittings..... its slow a first but actually has a good story and puts you in the position where you have to make some touch choices... its more like an experience than a game.. you cant die even if you let one of the characters die it keeps going....i had to go back a few times and redo a few scenes as i knew i made the wrong choice the second i pushed the button... good to see a game actually really use the sixaxis well... its more than just a bunch of cut scene quick time events.. you can actually walk around the enviroment like a normal game but it is more like an interactive movie

it reminds me of like what if you were playing something the movie Se7en or Zodiac or something like similar to that or a little like the gloomy tone of Silent Hill 2 minus the supernatural...

I picked up Dante's Inferno before I went on my trip, and from what I've played of it, I love it! It's got a pretty interesting story, and not to give too much away, but your first battle is against the Grim Reaper so that hooked me. And there are some stuff if you have a sick and twisted world perspective (Frost) this might be right up your alley... I think lol. I just picked up the mag for it today so hopefully I can get past this one point that had me stuck for a few hours lol.

Also picked up Battlefield 2: Bad Company today, so I'll prolly throw that in tomorrow and give it a try. Was told it was pretty good, we shall see...

Get ready for a trend!

Steam: nutinmuch -- I own a bunch of valve games but I primarily play CS:S. I spend most of my time scrimming with my team so I rarely pub. Every now and then I'll go run one though. ;)

XBL: nutinmuch -- I rarely am on XBL. Mostly for Forza 3 if I am though.

WoW: Yeah yeah yeah. I'm on Maelstrom, though these days I only log on to raid (waiting on Cataclysm~).

And to the CS conversation on the previous page: Buy deag, aim for heads, profit.

All my clips were on vimeo before it turned against any sort of game clip so I have nothing to show off, but this is pretty awesome so here:

lies, my KD ratio with the p228 is so much better than when i'm equipped w/ a deagle

but DAMN that video is ridiculous. rep for that.

PSN: Gaiiden

If anyone thinks they can beat me in Guitar Hero Expert Face-off, they're welcome to give it a shot.

Otherwise I'm usually up for co-op runs in GTA4, Uncharted 2 and NFS:Shift

FYI: If you send me a friend request I won't get back to you for a week tho since I am ironically at the biggest game development conference in the world.

Further selfless plug :)

I just piked up Battlefield 2: Bad Company so once I beat the story, if anyone else has it and likes it I can jump on that. But so far, I prefer the MW series.

vipor 03-08-2010 08:34 AM

My friend/roommate picked that up last night. Looks awesome. My PC can't run it... :shakes head:

So do you still play EVE? I played the beta and have occasionally hopped on for free trials every now and then.

I want to like that game so bad -- but I just can't. And I like spreadsheets. :(

XwChriswX 03-08-2010 10:55 AM

I do still play it, I love it. Would highly reccomend it to anyone that plays a MMPORG that is bored out of their mind. There are so many different levels and ideals to look into.

What fact of the game bores you?

I wouldn't say bores me -- it is just extremely deep. While I like that, it makes the learning curve pretty steep. I'm always reminded of this image:

I'll probably end up trying it again, though. The only thing holding me back is the whole real-time to learn skills thing. I do like the atmosphere a whole lot, though. Sigh. Maybe I just miss Earth and Beyond too much. Fk'n EA.

I always read about different happenings inside the game via Goonfleet, though. Always makes me interested.

^^^ That pic is an exceptional depiction of the curve in Eve lol. But once you go through the tutorials, its really easy to learn the basics. The more in depth mechanics of things will come with time. The skill training while not in game is the best thing ever. And there are so many different things you could do that no matter what kind of player you wanna be you can be happy. Honestly, this game can make you RL money if you wanted it to...

And yeah all of the storys that go on are pretty crazy. Speaking of goonfleet, they are disbanded and all the space they took, is now back in the hands of the original owners. Go figure? This game just evolves so much!
If you'd like to see the current powerblock map, just google: Eve Player Influence Map

It's updated every day to show changes.

I'm surprised, but Star Trek: Online has had a bevy of patches released, and it's getting darn-near playable now. Ground is still horrific, but space is a total blast. I love my heavy cruiser wailing away with beam weapons...it's so pretty.
