Video Gamers: Anyone into World of Warcraft?
So I haven't really played hardcore in a few years but with the new expansion now out, I decided to get back in and play some and am looking to meet some new friends to run with in game. Just seeing if anyone here in the Z community ever plays? I see lots of high end rigs posted in here so I know there has to be a few gamers. Anyhow, feel free to add me and message me in game so I can add you back and know your a fellow Z owner!

I played WoW back when WOTLK was the current expansion. I gave it up just before Cataclysm came out.

Yea I played hardcore for while and bought cataclysm then played for a month or two and just quit lol

I heard Cata sucked big time and killed it for a lot of people. However MOP was very cool and I hear WOD is like old school and new school combined, getting top reviews from the old school guys. If you were to come back and buy the expansion, you get a free toon to 90! You can either boost your old toon or buy a whole new one and level him to 100 in the expansion! lol But yah, add me in blizz id!

WoW:WoD is fun; I'm not sure how people call it a throwback to the vanilla days (I play hardcore back in vanilla/BC and increasingly casual from there). I get some of the homages and we're moving away from the cutesy MoP stuff and the experiments of Cataclysm. Still, it's more interesting to play than MoP. And it doesn't feel like I *have* to spend gobs of time in it (reputation grinds, endless pet battles, planting stupid crops, 25 dailies each day, and more rep grinds, camping rares) to feel satisfying.
I guess maybe it has to do a bit with how some of the classes play. I've only looked into a few classes so far, but the rotations and priorities are getting streamlined and extraneous things removed. Hunter aspects? No. Shaman Totems? Just a couple optional ones. Unfortunately, unless you've kept up with the story (and even for many who have...), the story that heads into the expansion is a bit confusing for quite some time. "Wait, haven't I seen these guys before...?" Still, after a couple years with an inactive account, it's a nice game to come back to and play something new while also tickling the nostalgia. As long as I can tool around largely solo or anonymously in my old guild and not feel like I'm missing out on big things, I'm happy playing this for a few months. |
