do drums count? lol

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:10 PM

yah, one of my hobbies is to play keys but not really into just making beats. i have an alesis sr18 i use for looping drums.

FPenvy 03-28-2014 03:11 PM

i used to make beats with my friends brother. he used to produce for local rappers. i would just mess around or sometimes help with drum stuff for him.

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:12 PM

considering a lot of beats are now sampled loops, that's cool you can play drums and make your own samples.

thank you :tiphat:

that said, i use logic (the basic one) for beats sometimes. otherwise ARX01 and logic to make some original loops.

yah, it's different when a real drummer makes beats vs some keyboard player thinking he can make beats off a drum machine. the groove and soul.

i am scared to actually get on a beat machine like a MPC one. i may not stop playing with it for days lol i've used a cheap one before and i came up with ridiculous stuff lol

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:16 PM

if i was to get new equipment, i would probably just do NI and a faster MBP. should be plenty.

:rofl2: yah, MPC is good stuff. i like those hybrid partial software/hardware setups. once i get something cool, just sample it.

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:18 PM
