Beat makers unite !

PLease state what equipment you use : hardware and software

music genres you create for

influences that made you get into this.

FPenvy 03-28-2014 03:06 PM

do drums count? lol

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:10 PM

yah, one of my hobbies is to play keys but not really into just making beats. i have an alesis sr18 i use for looping drums.

FPenvy 03-28-2014 03:11 PM

i used to make beats with my friends brother. he used to produce for local rappers. i would just mess around or sometimes help with drum stuff for him.

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:12 PM

considering a lot of beats are now sampled loops, that's cool you can play drums and make your own samples.

thank you :tiphat:

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:14 PM

that said, i use logic (the basic one) for beats sometimes. otherwise ARX01 and logic to make some original loops.

yah, it's different when a real drummer makes beats vs some keyboard player thinking he can make beats off a drum machine. the groove and soul.

i am scared to actually get on a beat machine like a MPC one. i may not stop playing with it for days lol i've used a cheap one before and i came up with ridiculous stuff lol

kenchan 03-28-2014 03:16 PM

if i was to get new equipment, i would probably just do NI and a faster MBP. should be plenty.

Cool guys ! I using a triton and asr-10 now, building a mpc 3000 which is almost done. drums count, especially sampling them to be creative, wish i could sample some hits from you on my mpc 3000.

jaytirbhaw 04-01-2014 03:13 PM

anyone using waves vst plugins with ableton ? I can't get the program to pick them up..

Zrider79 04-11-2014 03:49 PM

no im not currently, Got a Asr-10 as well, have really messed with it, but i think im going to sample into it first and then move samples over to 3000.

Zrider79 04-11-2014 03:52 PM

Here is what I use right now with my current setup -

2010 Macbook Pro Uni 13.3"

Software -
Ableton Live 9 for Live Sets, Simple Production Looping and Sets for Dubstep
Logic X - Mastering and Sampling along with Final Production
FL Studio - Trap/Hip Hop/ R&B Beat Making and creation
Reason Studio for Phase Shift and Linear Trance Loops and creations
Pro Tools on some occasions

Hardware -
Ableton Push Controller
Ableton APC 40 Controller
Novation Launchpad Mini
AKAI MPC 500
Novation X station - For piano keys and rhythm production
Sonus 8 Line DSP Controller
Crown 4 Channel AMP
KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitors and Mackie Monitors with M&K 700 Watt Sub

Thats just my minor studio in my front of my apartment. And i know that i'm forgetting some things there and there, misc hardware and old software. I know that I have at least 3 Blue Microphones, 2 Shure's and a few field placement mics for non directional capture (used for like drums and such)

Solomatrix 04-16-2014 07:26 AM
