I have used a couple of Meguiar's Paste Waxes with good results, but they don't last much longer than 3-4 weeks on my DD Z it seems. The Adam's Buttery Wax looks so good but it lasts 2 weeks at best. I don't get the chance to wax monthly and average a full detail probably 4-6 times per year.

Really what I want is a durable wax that is still looking good 4-6 weeks later when I finally find the time to wash it. Another 4-6 weeks until it needs replacement would be nice, too.

i wash my dd's usually every week or every other week depending on the weather so 3wks gives me a good window. for 3months+ protection i use Griot's one-step sealant. i use that stuff usually in the Fall, but this year i got tons of rustly looking contaminants on my dd so i used that over the weekend in certain areas. :D it's got diminishing abrasives so you polish off contaminants, swirls as you seal the paint.

if you have a RO, it's a great product. :D

you can always reinforce sealants with the Hydro too for longer protection.

kenchan 05-20-2014 06:43 PM

i think Prima makes new sealants too based on the hydro technology...

kenchan 05-20-2014 06:44 PM

Prima Hydro MAX Super Spray Polymer

kenchan 05-20-2014 06:46 PM

the reason i went with the original Hydro is because i use hydro as QD on my dd's sometimes. hydro max is $38 for 32oz.... original hydro is $60 for 128 oz (gallon)

Kate is a wise-azz. She always comments on how I am washing a clean car. "You better wash it, It's filthy" "I think I saw some dust specs on your 370 today, are you going to wash it or what?"

Good morning all!

Good news! I got the CMC installed last night and the Z is back on the road. I decided to wait until this weekend to install the CSCEK because I can get help this weekend. SS brake lines will go on at the same time

:excited: for BFG getting his seats today. Looking forward to pics since he won't tell me what he bought.

JARblue 05-21-2014 06:48 AM

The Arc coolant tank in the FS section sold in ~6 hours last night :icon17:

I offered to trade all my clutch parts for it :rofl2:

Probably about as much as a CRT TV these days - you pay someone to get rid of it for you :icon17:
