The other problem is when you get so caught up in what you're reading on the can that your feet fall asleep. Cleanup can be problematic on legs that have turned to jello. :rofl2:

Love my Kindle!! well.....my kindle app at least. I read mostly on my ipad mini.

Last book I read for pleasure was No Easy Day. A story about the tracking and killing of Bin Laden.

I read a ton of stuff all the time for my work. Research and stuff on stocks.

I am also an endurance sports enthusiast and coach, I read a lot of stuff for that too. Right now I'm re-reading Racing Weight, and reading Born To Run (which is more of a story about the Tarahumara and the Leadville Ultra Marathon).

A fantastic book. Between that and Lone Survivor, I've determined that, when compared to actual badasses I'm about as tough as your average Brony.

Me too. That's why I'm forcing myself to do more reading for fun. Annual reports and prospectuses get old fast.

inorite! I've faced that problem many a time getting caught up in "just one chapter."

I absolutely love my Kindle Paperwhite! It's the best damn thing I've ever bought.

I agree on Lone Survivor!! I've seen that book make more grown men cry than.....

Yeah, I like to think I'm bada$$ too. I've even gone to some private combat training, knife fighting training, self/home defense courses. I've done some competitive shooting plus stay in pretty good shape with the endurance sports. But, compared to some of those marines, I might as well curl up in a ball or crawl in a hole!!!

I tried the same thing reading for pleasure, but really only read a few books last year not related to endurance sports. However, that's really a hobby for me. Although, I do get paid for it, I certainly wouldn't make a living at it. I do it mostly for enjoyment, so those books count as enjoyment for me more than anything.

I'm using my ipad mini. I mostly read on my train ride commute into the city and in the house if I get a few minutes. I suppose if I read outside it would be more of an issue.

I travel around Afghanistan for a living, the sun is a huge issue.

I was very anti-Ebook for years until my dad bought me a Kindle Paperwhite for Xmas. It's fantastic. I still prefer actual books, but having instant access to all the books on Amazon simply cannot be beat.

Nothing beats a real book (I prefer hardback still) in your hands, but having 1,000+ books in one thin device is baus!

I'm big on anti-clutter and I carry enough stuff to work everyday. Being able to slip an ipad mini in my backpack with my books on it is PRICELESS!

Chuck33079 03-19-2014 11:01 AM

Yeah, but nothing beats that "New Book Smell". :rofl2:

I'm a bit of a romanticist. I view my volumes of hardbacks like an ancient library of knowledge and stories of distant lands.

Chuck33079 03-19-2014 11:07 AM

Oh, my dream house will have a library for sure. I never get rid of books.

That would be a tragic waste!
