Oh no I have a couple gifts for her, but for actual Valentine's day I gotta work. Not sure if we'll try to celebrate before or after but probably just on a different day, already have reservations on back-up in case  Just know when she say's "I don't want anything" it means "Bítch I better get 2 of everything" :icon14:

Eric, you better get her something! My gf thinks flowers are f-ing retarded, and I'll try to take her, her brother, and sister out to dinner or something (she's 23 and takes care of her brother and sister)

We've been together for 7 years. The pressure to do something over the top is gone. This is the first time she's actually been specific about what she wants. A new Tempurpedic pillow. I asked for a new set of pliers since I messed up my needle nose and my regular ones are beat to hell. :rofl2:

That's romance right there.

Practical romance. Perfect.

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 10:01 AM

Nah, it's just we've already done all of the romantic gifts in previous years. We're over it. She's got a bigass box full of sparkly **** she never wears. Plus, I really scored this year. She's saving up for a down payment for a new car so she doesn't want to spend a lot of money on my gift. Which means I'm not about to spend a lot on hers.

Mitco39 02-12-2014 10:13 AM

I think I came up with a pretty clever plan on my own.

She is a huge car person and owns her own FD RX7. Well right now it is in storage in a garage just outside of town. The deck in the RX7 can play DVDs. So I actually made a mixDVD if that is such a thing of a bunch of very cool inspiration car videos. I am going to go out to the garage sometime this week to make sure that the DVD will infact play in her car and we will fire it up and she can sit in it while we watch the videos I put on the DVDs. I also bought a vday blanket and some chocolates to eat while we sit in the car.

This way she can see her car as well as spend some time in it (our winters are way to long). She loves the thing more than myself lol so what better way to give her both.

Also my Z is parked right next to it so I can sneak a peak at it to :P

haha

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 10:16 AM

Or, you could help get the FD running again. :p

haha well I will fire it up to charge the batteries while we watch the shows. That little 1.3L is faster than my turbo'd 370. Its an amazing car haha.

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 10:30 AM

60% of the time, it works every time. :rofl2:

It's amazing how fast a ~2700lb car can be.

Brookstone has a solid selection.

theDreamer 02-12-2014 10:38 AM

Double date with some friends, she just messaged and asked if we can go dancing afterwards but dinner is not until 8:30 and with our friends we usually eat/drink for a good 2-3 hours so might skip on that.
Gifts, I got her a picture collage thing she wanted and specifically asked for, will probably work up something to do on the day of like some flowers.

Until it breaks, which is every 1000 miles

That's pretty legit, really is romance right there

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 11:05 AM

It kinda makes sense. A woman and a FD are both not working one week out of every month.

I don't know... One of my friends' was sitting for 8 months... Got everything rebuilt, 1000 break in miles, motor popped shortly thereafter. The car has bankrupted him. All my other friends with RX7s have DDs because their RX7 is broken in the garage...

Actually, one spent 8k on a rebuild 6 months ago, less than 1000 miles... Already has problems

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 11:11 AM

That's why people put LS1s in them. It's the only good part of a Chevy fixing the only bad part of the FD. :rofl2:

Mitco39 02-12-2014 11:13 AM

This FD she has she has not touched it and put on about 5-6000kms (~4000miles) on it and so far it has not missed a beat. I gotta say that rotary engine is something out of a dream. Albeit a short dream lol, but man its impressive.

It helps when shes a automotive mechanic and does all her own work to the car. If it pops she'll just rebuild it herself.
