FWIW, I have a AudioTechnica Pro24CM and it sounds great, pretty inexpensive as far as condenser mics go.

When you're in Afghanistan and there is only one internet provider, they kinda have you by the short and curlies.

It isn't technically dial-up, but it's satellite provided internet which is 128kbps and delayed 500ms, which amounts to the same thing.
