I'm teaching a class called "Solving Colour Mysteries" at TIGI's World Release weekend in less than two weeks. The class is in very high demand and has been sold out since tickets went on sale. The class doesn't exist in our curriculum... as in it doesn't have a format. It hasn't been written yet. I have two teammates working with me on this class and we were given free reign on creating the class and presenting the information however we wanted to.
At the beginning of the week, we were told "no, don't do it that way. Do it this way."
So now we're revising the class and presentation. It's a challenge being that the three of us are constantly behind the chair or on an airplane.

"By the way, we want to see it by Friday."

People think because they wear a suit and tie they are special or privileged :shakes head: when really your only paying more for yor work cloths!

Around here we have management on salary that have to dress the part mean while they are only making half of what us dirty construction/contractors/electricians do! Ummm 50-70k or 100+ (the plus can be huge depends on how much OT you want to work!) I'll take the dirty labourous job with the better pay :tup:

No, it's not. It's cool for the first week or so. Then it sucks, and dry cleaning adds up. Plus, wearing a suit and tie in the summer in Houston is a recipe for swampass.

I almost always wear slacks and a dress shirt. I only wear suits when necessary and typically never wear jeans to work even though we can some days. Just preference. Blue collar work can definitely pay well no doubt. Just not my thing.

Me either! That's why I'm a consultant haha. Although having to travel every week gets old too.

Some of our clients have strict formal dress codes and we have to abide by it. Luckily the client I'm working with is very casual (jeans everyday).

Ya travel sucks. I very rarely work out of town where I can't go home at night. My time off is just more important. There job sites I could go to and make 200-250k out west but then you are awa from home and just working 7-12 hour days no time off. Maybe one week every 4-6 weeks. Then when you go home you feel wierd like its not even home.

Sure it can be for some. Just depends on what you do for a living. Same goes for blue collar work some is sh!t and sh!t pay to go with it. But if you have a skilled trade you are/will be laughing!

I enjoy doing plan review and inspections. I am in the office looking at plans and doing paperwork, but then I get out of the office to do inspections on a regular basis as well. I get to see a variety of construction, plus we do a lot of work for TPWD that gets me access to all the State Parks and Wildlife Management Areas :tup:
