Around here we have management on salary that have to dress the part mean while they are only making half of what us dirty construction/contractors/electricians do! Ummm 50-70k or 100+ (the plus can be huge depends on how much OT you want to work!) I'll take the dirty labourous job with the better pay

it has nothing to do with being privileged.. its about wearing a suit, and feeling great. I love the way I feel when i am in a suit..

Though, I can't tie a tie for the life of me.

I did it once, after trying like 1,000,000 times.

Then I was told it was wrong, because I didn't have a little dimple in it.

So I untied it and had someone else tie it for me. :icon17:

I've spent hours upon hours trying to teach myself and I can't seem to do it. :shakes head:

LunaZ 09-27-2013 02:59 PM

Had a nice break to do a couple of haircuts.
Back to PowerPoint land.
I just want to get this done so I can go running... waaahhh!

blackcherry20 09-27-2013 03:01 PM

:tup:mr and mrs bc are heading to Red Lobster when we drop off the mini at grandma's.
One question:
Drive a dirty Z or drive a comfy large Ford F-150

I've watched them.

It's something about watching it and them moving the opposite directions and such. I don't know, I can't grasp it for some reason.

I'm constantly yelling at the computer, "Slow the **** down!!" :bowrofl:

hahaha... dude, it took me a long time to get it too, and I'd have to rewind the video a few times, but literally once you get it, you got it.. you tie all your ties, and never have to worry about it ever again.

Once you've watched the vids and know what's supposed to go where, try closing your eyes and doing it by feel. It eliminates the backwards perspective.

Oh, and dimples aren't a requirement. They seemed to be in favour with news anchors and stock-brokers in the 90's and early 2000's but have gone away somewhat.
Whether or not your tie has a dimple really depends on a) how wide the tie is, b) how thick or thin the material is, and c) what style of knot and how tight you tie it.
If you wear a wide silk tie with a tight half-Windsor, then yeah, you're gonna have a dimple. A more modern slim or skinny tie, especially in a heavier fabric, will not.
