Insurance Q...w a bank loan i wonder is it possible, or even worth the hassle, to change coverage when Harry is being stored. Commments?

Yes it is totally worth your trouble and it is possible. First contact your loan holder, most likely they will ask you to send them a request for insurance change (that's what I have do) the savings is worth while IMO.....but then again I am 27 year old male who has a ticket or two so insurance is most likely more then yours so the difference is greater :ugh2:

If the car is under a lien holder, most lien holders require full coverage, but if the car is not going to be driven, you could always raise your deductibles which will lower your premiums, while it still falls under having "full coverage" as your lien holder requires.

It is a treat to not wake up in a hotel. Waking up and finding Mrs. Dr. onzedge next to me is pretty cool. Hanging out with the dogs, letting her sleep in a bit, not having much on my plate today and goofing off here is a treasure.

I know that. That's what I am talking about you call your loan holder/lein holder and ask. They will most likely ask you to send in the request I was talking about. They will then allow you to change the coverage to just comprehensive (aka parking insurance)

LMBmikeZ 10-25-2013 08:53 AM

You may just need to explain that it is a summer vehicle and you don't drive it in the winter months.

Oh, thats a whole nother ballgame right there, JUST having comprehensive insurance and not FULL coverage... hmm, I would think its entirely up to the lien holder. (my personal opinion is, I doubt they'd allow it).

LMBmikeZ 10-25-2013 09:23 AM

Been doing it to mine the past three winters.

Doesn't hurt to ask.

kenchan 10-25-2013 09:47 AM

goodam, everyone! :hello:

for me, i dont change my insurance policy while my car is hibernating. first reason is because they're on leisure car insurance to begin with so it's very cheap. like 285 or something for 6months. my G is even less.

the 2nd reason is while my agent is real nice, his associate who does the paperwork is kinda...well, let's just say not too keen on keeping up with detail :ugh: so i dont want to risk messing up the policy when i revert back and forth. :D

plus, if something were to happen during the hibernation where i need to move the car, it is one less thing to worry about.

this belongs in mspint's thread, but i hate young inexperienced honda drivers. cause when im driving swiftly through traffic in my modded fit, these f-king ric0rs in modded rsx and civic-si think im racing them and starts doing all sorts of manuvers.

to the mistaken eyes, it might appear as if we're street racing. :shakes head:

so i have to back off significantly to tell the dumbarse teenager that im not interested in some pos underpowered FWD race... and this slows me down.

i need to find a jdm sticker that says "go f- yourself you dumbarse honda driver!' and put it on my fit. :icon17:
